Bandai HG 1/144 Military Police Zaku - GQuuuuuuX Series
Bandai's Police Zaku from GQuuuuuuX, in HG 1/144
This is the HG 1/144 Military Police Zaku from Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. The box calls it the MS-06-SSP Police Zaku, and Bandai Japan lists it as the 軍警ザク. It is the second GQuuuuuuX plastic model released, a dark blue police version of the series' new Zaku design with red emergency lights on both shoulders and a shield carrying a large police marking. Bandai released it in Japan in April 2025 and rates it 8+.
Build difficulty
Skill Level 2. It is a snap-fit High Grade build with no glue needed. One Japanese reviewer describes it as polycap-less with KPS joints and no ABS. Another found it easy to put together, with eight runners and few parts because many pieces are large and curved. The honest catch is the stickers. The big marking stickers for the shield and the right leg go onto curved, detailed surfaces and are easy to wrinkle, so take your time with tweezers.
Technical highlights
- Emergency rotating lights on both shoulders, moulded in clear red parts, per Bandai.
- Independent shoulder blocks for dynamic poses, per Bandai. The shoulders also pull forward for a wider reach.
- Movable mono-eye that slides left and right using a rib on the underside of the head. One reviewer found it a little stiff, so move it gently.
- The right shoulder shield rotates so the arm can lift without fouling it, per one reviewer.
- Two-axis knees, and a torso that tilts well forward and back.
- Machine gun with a movable foregrip for a two-handed hold.
- A joint under the crotch for the Action Base (sold separately), per Bandai's staff.
What makes this kit special
-
The police redesign: new leg design with large thigh thrusters, a spikeless left shoulder armour and an L-shaped right shoulder shield.
-
Police loadout: a shield with a large police marking, and an electromagnetic baton that stores on the back of the shield.
-
Clear red emergency lights: both shoulders carry the warning light parts.
-
Shared runners with the Zaku (GQ): the Zaku (GQ) reuses most of this kit's parts with changed shoulder, leg and colour parts, so the pair display well together.
What's in the box
- Zaku Machine Gun
- Heat Hawk
- Electromagnetic baton
- Shield
- Hand parts: left and right gripping hands and one left open palm
- Marking stickers
Bandai lists the contents as one set of armaments, one set of hand parts and one marking sticker sheet. The weapon names above come from builder reviews of the kit. No display stand is included.
Compatible accessories
For floating poses, the Bandai Action Base 2 or the Bandai Action Base 5 both suit a 1/144 kit. The kit has a joint under the crotch and a 3mm stand hole in the sole.

What to watch for
This comes from three Japanese builder write-ups of the kit. Treat single-reviewer points as notes rather than confirmed faults:
- The large marking stickers are the hardest part. The shield sticker and the right-leg sticker sit on curved, detailed surfaces and can wrinkle or lift, and one reviewer had air bubbles under the white leg lines and suggests partial painting for those.
- Movement is good in places and limited in others. Arms bend past 90 degrees and the kit kneels cleanly, but the bulky thighs limit how wide the legs spread, and the left shoulder armour limits how high the left arm goes.
- The mono-eye slide is a little stiff, per one reviewer, so move it gently.
- The white lines on the upper arms are stickers that one reviewer found tricky to place neatly.
- One reviewer slightly mis-assembled a part, had to take it apart and nearly broke it, so check the manual before pressing parts together.
The reviews are positive on the overall quality of the kit, the joints (firm and not loose) and the police details.
Build notes
Plan your sticker order before you start, and keep tweezers handy. The thruster interiors on the back of the thighs are worth painting red if you like detailed finishes. Rated 8 and up by Bandai.
