Same-Day Dispatch
Orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday are dispatched the same day. After 2pm, your order goes out the next business day.
Free Shipping
Orders over $199 ship free within Australia via Australia Post Standard Parcel Post or our dedicated couriers. Please note that free shipping may not apply during certain sale events. Any changes to shipping during a sale will be clearly listed on the sale page.
Shipping Options & Rates
Not everything needs to ship as a parcel. For smaller items like Gundam markers, decal sheets, and other lightweight accessories, we offer letter rate shipping to keep costs down.
Standard Letter (no tracking):
- Up to 125g, max 20mm thick (including padded envelope): $3
- 126g to 200g, max 20mm thick (including padded envelope): $4.50
Letter rate shipping does not include tracking. Delivery is generally 3-5 business days within the same state and 4-7 business days interstate. Some items may weigh under 200g but exceed the 20mm thickness limit due to their packaging. Sadly our system cannot make that distinction at this time and you may be allowed to select the standard letter option if this is the case, we will contact you and we will require you to pay the additional postage cost gap.
Standard Parcel Post:
- 250g to 500g: $10 flat rate (subsidised)
- Over 500g: calculated at checkout based on your location, cart total, and order weight
- Signature on delivery is available for an additional $2.95
Shipping to New Zealand
For our Kiwi builders, we offer subsidised international shipping to New Zealand through Australia Post. Rates are calculated at checkout. International shipping is calculated based on girth and we provide example calculations in our frequently asked questions page located here.

How long does delivery take?
We dispatch all orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday on the same day. Once dispatched, delivery times depend on your location and shipping method. All timeframes below are business days.
Express Post:
Express Post is the fastest option available. Next business day delivery applies between metropolitan areas within the Express Post network. For broader delivery areas, expect 1-3 business days. For Western Australia, Northern Territory, and remote regions, delivery can take 3 or more business days. Express Post covers all of Australia, but delivery times vary depending on how close you are to the metro network.
Standard Parcel Post Estimated Delivery Time:
- Southeast Queensland: 1-2 days
- Rest of Queensland: 2-4 days
- Other capital cities and surrounding urban areas: 2-4 days
- Regional areas: up to 7 days
- Northern Territory: up to 7 days for urban areas, up to 14 days for remote areas
- Remote Western Australia (particularly northern regions): 7 days or more
Standard Letter:
- Within the same state: 3-5 business days
- Interstate: 4-7 business days
These are general estimates based on our experience shipping from Brisbane. Actual delivery times are managed by Australia Post once the order leaves us. You'll receive tracking details via email with your parcel post dispatch confirmation so you can follow your order along the way.
How much does shipping cost?
Orders over $199 ship free within Australia. For smaller lightweight items, we offer letter rate shipping from $3. Our 250g to 500g parcels ship at a subsidised flat rate of $10. For everything else, shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location, cart total, and order weight. Do you ship to New Zealand?
Yes. We offer subsidised international shipping to New Zealand through Australia Post. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout.
Do you ship internationally outside of New Zealand?
Currently we ship within Australia and to New Zealand. If you're outside these areas and interested in a kit, drop us an email at help@mechaexpressaustralia.com.au and we'll see what we can do.
What happens if my order arrives damaged?
Send us an email at help@mechaexpressaustralia.com.au with a couple of photos of the damage. We'll sort it out for you as quickly as we can.

How is my order packed?
Every order is packed with care using eco-friendly materials. We make sure your kit is protected properly so it arrives in perfect condition and ready to build.
Do I need to sign for my parcel?
Not usually. Most parcels are delivered without requiring a signature unless you've selected signature on delivery at checkout. However, if the delivery driver feels it's not safe to leave your parcel, they may take it to your nearest post office. If that happens, you'll need to collect it with photo ID and proof of address.
Can I track my order?
All parcel post orders include tracking. You'll receive your tracking details with your dispatch confirmation email. Standard letter shipments do not include tracking.
Will I get SMS updates on my delivery?
Yes, as long as you provide your mobile number when ordering. Australia Post will automatically send you text updates when your parcel is picked up, the day before delivery, the morning of delivery, and when it arrives. You don't need to download any apps or sign up for anything. If you do have the AusPost app with notifications turned on, you'll get updates through the app instead. Please remember that real Australia Post messages never include links asking for payment or personal details.
