Key features

Massive Twin Gatling Cannons: The kit's most defining feature is its pair of oversized Gatling cannons, which can be mounted on each arm or stored on the backpack. This is a significant upgrade from the TV version's single Gatling gun, and it perfectly represents the mobile suit's design from Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz.

Full Burst Missile System: To recreate its iconic full burst attack, the model features multiple opening hatches on its shoulders, chest, and legs. These reveal the hidden missile pods, which is a major draw for fans of the mobile suit's overwhelming firepower.

Modern HGAC Engineering: As a modern High Grade After Colony (HGAC) kit, it boasts excellent articulation and a solid, stable build. This allows the model to hold its heavy weapons and strike dynamic poses without any difficulty, which is crucial for a mobile suit designed for heavy combat.

Assembly Guide

Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this kit a regular retail release or a Premium Bandai (P-Bandai) exclusive?

The HG 1/144 Gundam Heavyarms Custom is a Premium Bandai exclusive. This means it was produced in a limited run and sold through Bandai's online hobby shop, and is not generally available in standard retail stores. As a result, it can be more difficult to find and may be sold at a higher price by third-party sellers once the initial pre-order period has ended.

What are the key differences between this kit and the standard HGAC Gundam Heavyarms?

This "Custom" version represents the design from Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz and has several key differences. The most significant is the inclusion of the massive twin Gatling cannons that can be held on each arm or stored on the backpack. It also features a different backpack design with four vernier thrusters instead of two, and has new skirt armor to match its space-use specifications from the movie.

What weapons and accessories are included?

This kit is an arsenal in a box. It comes with its signature twin Gatling cannons, which are the main focus. It also features a beam Gatling gun that can be held in one hand, an army knife that can be folded out from the right arm, and opening missile hatches on the shoulders, legs, and chest to recreate its "full burst" attack from the anime.

How is the color separation and detail on this kit?

The color separation is excellent for a High Grade kit. The different colors of the armor (white, red, yellow, and gray) are all molded in their respective plastic colors. The missile pods and other internal weapons have molded detail, and while the missiles themselves are a single color, a little paint or a sticker will make them pop. The detail is sharp and accurate to the Endless Waltz design.

What is the articulation like for a mobile suit with so much armor?

Despite its bulky appearance and heavy armaments, the kit features very good articulation, thanks to its modern High Grade After Colony (HGAC) engineering. The joints in the shoulders, arms, legs, and torso allow for a wide range of motion, letting you pose it dynamically in its most iconic firing stances. The Gatling cannons, while large, are designed to be held securely, and the arm joints are strong enough to support their weight.
