Bandai MGSD Wing Gundam Zero EW
Wing Zero in SD form, with a real inner frame
The MGSD Wing Gundam Zero EW is the XXXG-00W0 from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, Heero Yuy's final Gundam, built as the third kit in Bandai's Master Grade SD line. It was released in November 2024. MGSD keeps SD proportions but gives you a full inner frame underneath, so it suits Gundam Wing Endless Waltz fans who want the angel wings in a compact, chunky size.
Build difficulty
This is a Skill Level 2 build. Bandai prints a 15+ age rating on the box. Expect nippers, a hobby knife and some clean-up work, and take your time on the wing binder, which has several layers that need to sit correctly on their locking pins. No glue is needed for general assembly.
Technical highlights
The main wings of the Wing Binder deploy to show silver parts inside and clear parts with reflection-cut processing. Pull up the upper wings of the secondary wings and the lower wings deploy with them. Armour parts carry their own deployment gimmicks, including the side of the head, the shoulder armour, and a front skirt base that moves forward to free the legs. The Twin Buster Rifle has a barrel-extension gimmick and a joint that connects to the arm for a firmer hold. Camera details are layered clear parts over detailed internal parts.
What makes this kit special
-
Neo Bird transformation: the first variable mechanism in the MGSD series, with an Outer Atmospheric Mode (main wings folded) and an Atmospheric Mode (main wings deployed).
-
Deploying wing binder: main wings open to show silver parts and reflection-cut clear parts, and the lower wings follow the upper wings.
-
Full MGSD inner frame: the internal frame is reproduced at SD size and drives the articulation.
-
Armour deployment gimmicks: head side units, shoulder armour and front skirt all open or shift.
-
Twin Buster Rifle: barrel extension plus a joint that connects to the arm.
-
Layered camera details: clear parts over detailed internals for the sensor look.

What to watch for
-
Twin Buster Rifle hold: a detailed review and a builder comment both describe the rifle as fiddly to hold in the classic pose. The kit has a joint that connects the rifle to the arm to improve the hold, so take care setting it.
-
Display balance: one detailed review found the kit heavy for an Action Base 7 and hard to balance in Neo Bird mode. Plan your display pose before you commit to a stand.
-
Wing placement: the same review notes there is no locking connection between the two main wings, so you set them by eye.
Build notes
Standard tools are enough: nippers, a hobby knife, sanding sticks, a file and tweezers. Take the wing binder slowly and check each layer sits on its pins before you move on.
