Bandai's Unko Suru Days is a real Japanese novelty toy line built around cartoon poop characters living out ordinary lives, and this set is the cat and bear entry: Animal Unchi Set 1.

This isn't a plastic model kit dressed up as a joke, it's a genuine sculpting set. You shape real paper clay by hand, press it into the included mould, and finish it off with the supplied sticker sheet. Build difficulty

This is a craft kit, not an assembly kit, so the usual nippers-and-runners skill scale doesn't really apply. There's nothing to clip, glue, or paint. You press the included paper clay into the mould by hand, shape the character, add the sticker details, then leave it to air-dry at room temperature. What to watch for

Paper clay is forgiving but it isn't magic. Press it too thick in the mould and it can crack slightly as it dries, so aim for an even layer. Overmix the white and brown clay and you'll get a flat grey-brown rather than a shaded look, so blend gradually. Bandai doesn't publish an exact cure time, so treat "dry to the touch" as the starting point and leave the piece flat and undisturbed for at least a day before handling it much. And because the mould is on the small side, this one's a desk ornament, not a shelf centrepiece.

Builder tip: keep a small bowl of water nearby to smooth the clay's surface as you shape it, and work on a flat, non-stick surface so the piece doesn't warp while it dries.

Build notes

No glue, cement, batteries, or paint are needed for this kit. Recommended age is 6 and up; younger builders should have an adult on hand, as with any small-parts craft kit. Hands-on time is short, well under half an hour, but budget at least a day for the clay to firm up before it's moved around much.

Assembly Guide

SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED
Skill Level.1. Most adults & children can assemble Skill Level 1 kits with little to no difficulty. Very basic hobby tools are recommended including a pair of nippers, a hobby knife, but are not essential. No Glue is needed for these kits. Kits are all snap together and most parts can be removed by twisting and pushing without the need to snip with nippers.
No Cement Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

No Painting Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. Awesome kit, great extras. Only criticism is that the kit comes with a base so you don't need the second one. The kit also doesn't have the ability to take the blue LED bonus so if you don't have another use for it it is wasted. Luckily, I'm a Gundam tragic so will always have uses for extra bases and lighting kits.

Very rare with fair price

If you were one of the lucky ones that were able to travel to Sydney Gundam Base pop-up in 2025 and queued extremely early (like the first 40 or so) on the first day, probably you were able to grab one of these. Otherwise, the only alternative I would know of is traveling to Japan and being uber lucky of having it still being sold at Gundam bases. Otherwise, it's a second-hand market, and prices will go up. That said, the price was fair, I think it would be similar price as using a dropship service from Japan, with the exception that it's much faster and way more guaranteed you will get proper merchandise. So, Mecha Express, Cam, thank you so much for your store!
