The Maxion Army's Type-D Acerby, now with a new blade
The EXM-H15D Acerby (Type-D) is the fourth release in Bandai's 30 Minutes Missions Acerby line, a compact, highly poseable Mobile Worker figure-kit built around the Maxion Army EXAMACS chassis. Where the Type-A through Type-C releases were mostly colour variants on the same parts, Type-D brings genuinely new armour and weapon tooling, headlined by a translucent energy blade.
Build difficulty
Snap-fit, no cement, moulded in colour with no painting required to get the finished look. Around the same part count and complexity as a standard High Grade kit. The redesigned feet on this release have deeper ball joint sockets and a wider footprint than earlier Acerby types, which makes it noticeably easier to get the kit standing in a pose and keep it there.
Technical highlights
The Type-D's headline feature is the newly designed energy blade, a translucent clear blue sword that stores in a sheath and deploys for close-quarters poses, matching the clear blue visor on the adjustable head unit. Two armour sets attach at the shoulders and waist, and the head visor swaps between a streamlined profile and a more defensive-looking configuration. The kit is moulded in bright orange, pure white, and matte anthracite grey.
What makes this kit special
-
New translucent energy blade: a clear blue sword, removable from its sheath, exclusive to the Type-D release.
-
Adjustable head visor: swap between a streamlined and a defensive profile by replacing parts.
-
Redesigned feet: deeper ball joints and a wider foot than earlier Acerby types, for genuinely better standing stability in a pose.
-
Two attachable armour sets: shoulder and waist armour pieces for a bulkier combat silhouette.
-
Blade submachine gun included: alongside the energy blade, for a mixed ranged and melee loadout.

What to watch for
Independent builder write-ups on the Type-D consistently flag the same thing: it's still a little top-heavy because of the head design, though noticeably less so than the earlier Type-A through Type-C releases thanks to the redesigned feet. It's a minor balance quirk rather than a fault, and the wider foot design keeps it standing through most poses without extra support.
Builder tip: if you're posing it fully upright with the head visor extended, angle the feet slightly wider than feels natural. It counteracts the top-heaviness and holds the pose better.
Build notes
Nippers recommended for clean part removal from the runners. No cement, no paint needed. Build time is a comfortable single sitting. Recommended age 15 and over.
