Bandai SDW Heroes Sasuke Delta Gundam

A ninja loyal to Nobunaga

Sasuke Delta Gundam comes from SD Gundam World Heroes, Bandai's chibi Sengoku-styled side story where classic Gundam mobile suits get reimagined as warriors, generals and ninja. Sasuke reworks the Universal Century's Delta Gundam (MSN-001, from the Gundam Sentinel side story) into a shinobi loyal to a Nobunaga-styled warlord, wrapped in a fox mask and a dark navy, red-accented colour scheme a long way from the original's gold.

It's a fun pick-up for anyone after a small, quick-build shelf piece with a genuine trick up its sleeve, and a nice curiosity for Delta Gundam or Universal Century collectors who don't mind a chibi reinterpretation sitting next to the real thing.

Build difficulty

Skill Level 1. This is a snap-fit SD kit, no cement and no paint needed to finish it looking right. Bandai's own line notes call out Sasuke Delta Gundam as having the best action-pose range in the SDW Heroes series. Bandai's packaging recommends it for builders aged 15 and up. A confident first-timer can have this built, posed and folded into its Fox Form in an evening.

Technical highlights

The armour is moulded largely in dark navy plastic with red flame-pattern accents and cyan trim, and colour separation is sharp aside from the red flame markings, which come on the included foil sticker sheet rather than being moulded in. There's no inner frame, this is a standard SD shell build, but the joint engineering supports both the standing ninja pose and the fold-down Fox Form alternate mode without extra parts.

What makes this kit special

  • Fold-down Fox Form: the fox mask and body fold into a crouching four-legged stealth mode, with the sword mounted in the fox mask's jaws, a genuine transformation gimmick rather than a static pose.
  • Best posing range in the SDW Heroes line: Bandai's own product notes single out Sasuke Delta Gundam's action-pose capability within the series.
  • Ninja hand-sign hand parts: a dedicated set of hand parts recreates a hand-seal gesture alongside the standard gripping hands.
  • Sword with a shuriken-styled mount: the included blade can be held or worn across the back on a six-point shuriken-shaped guard.
  • Delta Gundam heritage: the base silhouette nods to the Universal Century's MSN-001 Delta Gundam, a fun crossover pick for UC collectors.

What's in the box

  • Sasuke Delta Gundam body runners
  • Fox mask / head component
  • Sword accessory with shuriken-styled back mount
  • Standard hand parts plus special ninja hand-sign hand parts
  • Foil sticker sheet for the red accent markings

Compatible accessories

No specific accessory compatibility has been confirmed for this kit from Bandai documentation or a manufacturer spec sheet, so none are listed here rather than guessed at. No display base is included, though the wide SD foot design is built to stand on its own without one.

Build your Delta Gundam collection

Sasuke Delta Gundam is a chibi reinterpretation of the Universal Century's Delta Gundam. For the full-size version of the mobile suit behind the mask, the Bandai 1/100 MG Delta Plus covers the modified Delta Plus variant in real Master Grade detail. Staying inside the SDW Heroes line-up, the Bandai SDW Heroes Military Horse (Night World Ver.) is a mount accessory from the same Sengoku-styled cast for anyone building out the wider roster.

What to watch for

One independent builder review flags two things worth knowing before you start. The hand-part connection points are a tight fit out of the box, so ease pieces together rather than forcing them to avoid snapping a joint. The same review notes the head connection is tight too, which matters here since the head gets removed and refitted each time you switch into Fox Form. We haven't found this repeated across more than one independent source, so treat it as a single data point rather than a confirmed pattern.

Builder tips: Test-fit the hand joints and head connection before final assembly, and sand the mating surfaces lightly if they feel too tight. Take care with the foil stickers on first application, they don't reposition well once placed.

Build notes

No cement or paint needed to finish this kit looking right. Basic tools (nippers, a hobby knife) are enough to get through the runners. Expect well under an hour for the base assembly, with a little extra time to get comfortable folding it into Fox Form. Recommended for ages 15 and up per Bandai's packaging.

Assembly Guide

Skill Level.1. Most adults & children can assemble Skill Level 1 kits with little to no difficulty. Very basic hobby tools are recommended including a pair of nippers, a hobby knife, but are not essential. No Glue is needed for these kits. Kits are all snap together build and most parts can be removed by twisting and pushing without the need to snip with nippers.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.
