Bandai SDW Heroes Alternative Justice Infinite Dragon

A new dragon-knight for the Legend of Dragon Knight roster

Alternative Justice Infinite Dragon is kit No. 31 in SD Gundam World Heroes: The Legend of Dragon Knight, the King Arthur-inspired Gaiden side story where Gundam pilots and mobile suits are reimagined as knights, dragons and warriors outside the usual Gundam timeline. Bandai's own listing introduces it simply as a new character in the saga, wrapped in sharp purple armour and crystalline blue wings. It's built for anyone chasing the full numbered Dragon Knight roster, or after a compact, display-ready dragon for the shelf.

Build difficulty

This is a snap-fit SD kit rated Skill Level 1, in line with the low part count typical of the SDW Heroes line. No cement and no paint are needed. Bandai's own official listing recommends it from age 8 and up. Expect a straightforward, short build session, well suited to a first SD kit or a quick session between bigger projects.

Technical highlights

The wings and tail are ball-jointed, giving genuine posing range, and the head can be swapped between different facial expressions per Bandai's own listing. Parts come pre-coloured in purple, silver and translucent blue, so the colour separation comes straight off the runner with no painting required. Bandai confirms the kit can equip weapons from SDW Heroes Warlock Aegis Gundam (sold separately) for further customisation, and it can be mounted on a display base (sold separately) for a raised display pose.

What makes this kit special

  • Crystal-blue wings: genuine translucent moulded parts form the signature wing and blade silhouette, not a painted effect.
  • Ball-jointed wings and tail: real posing range plus swappable facial expression parts for a kit this size.
  • Purple, silver and clear colour separation: every colour is moulded in, so the kit looks finished straight off the runner.
  • Compatible with Warlock Aegis Gundam weapons: Bandai confirms cross-kit weapon compatibility for builders chasing further customisation (sold separately).
  • No paint, no cement: Skill Level 1 build, straightforward from the first parts sprue to the last sticker.
  • Part of a numbered side-story line: kit No. 31 in SD Gundam World Heroes: The Legend of Dragon Knight, for collectors building out the full roster.

What's in the box

  • Alternative Justice Infinite Dragon runners, pre-coloured in purple, translucent blue and silver
  • Sticker sheet x 1
  • Instruction manual

Compatible accessories

Bandai confirms the Alternative Justice Infinite Dragon can equip weapons from SDW Heroes Warlock Aegis Gundam, sold separately. That kit isn't currently in stock at Mecha Express, so it isn't linked here.

No display base is included with the kit. Bandai's own promotional photography shows it mounted on a clear action base for a raised display pose, with the base itself sold separately. Pair the Alternative Justice Infinite Dragon with the Bandai Action Base 1 - Universal Gunpla Display Stand, a universal-fit stand suited to SD-scale kits like this one.

What to watch for

We haven't found independent reviews specific to this kit. Builders discussing the wider SDW Heroes line have flagged that the sticker sheets can be fiddly given the amount of panel detail, and that fitting all the individual armour spikes together takes a bit of patience on the more elaborate releases in the range. Neither point is confirmed for this specific kit, so treat it as general context rather than a fault report.

Builder tips: take your time locating each spike and blade piece before starting, since the kit has a lot of small, similarly shaped parts. No glue or paint needed, so a clean first-time build is realistic.

Build notes

No glue required, snap-fit assembly throughout. A hobby knife and a pair of side cutters make cleanup easier, though the kit doesn't demand advanced tools. Expect a short build session. Recommended for ages 8 and up per Bandai's own packaging.

Assembly Guide

Skill Level.1. Most adults & children can assemble Skill Level 1 kits with little to no difficulty. Very basic hobby tools are recommended including a pair of nippers, a hobby knife, but are not essential. No Glue is needed for these kits. Kits are all snap together build and most parts can be removed by twisting and pushing without the need to snip with nippers.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.
