The tiny electric mouse that started smaller than Pikachu
Pichu is the pre-evolution of Pikachu, the Tiny Mouse Pokémon that hasn't quite grown into its own electricity yet. Kit 24 in Bandai's Pokémon Plamo Collection Quick!! line brings it to the shelf as a snap-fit figure with the same touch-gate assembly system as the rest of the Quick!! range: no tools, no cement, no paint.
A genuinely easy pick for a Pokémon fan who's never touched a model kit, or for an existing Gunpla builder after a fast, cheerful weekend project.
Build difficulty
This is a Skill Level 1 kit, Bandai's easiest tier, across 25 parts on two runners. The touch-gate system means every part pops off its runner by hand, no nippers required, and clicks straight into place. No cement, no paint, and no clean-up beyond a light trim if a nub is visible. Expect well under 30 minutes from box to finished figure.
Technical highlights
Every part is moulded in its finished colour, yellow body, black ear tips and tail, pink cheeks, so the completed Pichu matches the character art without a single coat of paint. The ears, arms and tail are separate parts for a small amount of posing, and the figure balances on its own feet without needing a display stand.
What Makes This Kit Special
-
Touch-gate assembly: every part snaps off the runner by hand and clicks into place, no nippers or tools needed at any step.
-
Just 25 parts on two runners: one of the fastest builds Mecha Express stocks, ideal for a first-ever kit or a quick project between bigger builds.
-
Pre-coloured plastic: yellow, black and pink parts straight from the runner, no painting required to match the character.
-
Genuine Quick!! line entry: part of Bandai's numbered Pokémon Plamo Collection Quick!! series, kit 24 of the range.
-
Compact display size: stands approximately 9.5cm tall, small enough to shelve alongside other Quick!! figures without crowding a display case.
What's In The Box
- Pichu body, ear, arm and tail runners (two runners, yellow, black and pink pre-coloured plastic)
- Instruction manual
Compatible Kits
Pichu stands on its own feet straight off the runner and doesn't need a display stand or Action Base. It doesn't share parts or accessories with any other kit in the range, but it's built on the same touch-gate system as every other Pokémon Plamo Collection Quick!! figure, so it displays naturally alongside the rest of the line.

What to watch for
A search across community write-ups, Reddit and English and Japanese hobby blogs turned up official Bandai and retailer listings for this kit but no independent build reports yet. Nothing has surfaced to flag as a known issue, but treat that as not yet documented rather than confirmed trouble-free. This is a genuinely simple kit with very little to go wrong.
Build Notes
No glue needed. No paint needed. No tools required for the touch-gate parts, though a hobby knife helps if a nub needs trimming. Expect well under 30 minutes for the full build given the 25-part count and Skill Level 1 rating. Recommended age 6+.
