The GF13-017NJII God Gundam, known internationally as Burning Gundam, is Domon Kasshu's mobile fighter from Mobile Fighter G Gundam — the Future Century's hand-to-hand combat Gundam designed around the Mobile Trace System and Hyper Mode. The Real Grade release pushes the RG line into Mobile Fighter G Gundam for the first time, and the engineering reflects that: this is the most articulated kit in the entire RG range, designed to recreate the show's signature martial arts poses including the iconic folded-arms stance and the Erupting Burning Finger.

If you collect Real Grade kits, the God Gundam is the standout articulation showcase of the line, regardless of whether you're a G Gundam fan.

This kit is designed for advanced builders and uses snap-fit assembly with the Advanced MS Joint pre-built inner frame.

Bandai built the God Gundam RG around human-body articulation principles. The shoulders and wrists use Advanced MS Joints with a pull-out shoulder mechanism, allowing the folded-arms stance the previous RGs couldn't match. The neck has three-axis articulation so the head can tuck in and stick out. The hip joint has a slide mechanism that opens the leg range nearly horizontal. A movable shaft on the thumb and nail covers recreates the God Finger gesture exactly. The kit includes both God Slash long sabers and the PET sheet for the Sun Wheel effect, plus realistic decals.

What to Watch For

The God Gundam's articulation is its strength and its weakness. The Advanced MS Joint frame is more delicate than other RGs because more of the body has been articulated — work joints gently and avoid forcing poses. The God Finger hand mechanism is small and the movable thumb pin can pop out; handle the hand carefully during display. The PET sheet for the Sun Wheel effect is large and unwieldy; consider whether you actually want to display the kit with the effect connected, or pose without it.

Builder Tips: The kit's articulation pays off with planning. Spend time exploring the joint range on the bare frame before adding armour panels so you understand what each pose needs. Realistic decals lift the kit massively — don't skip them. A satin topcoat over the finished build ties the decal, foil, and bare plastic finish together.

Assembly Guide

SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED
Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.
No Cement Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

No Painting Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Awesome kit, great extras. Only criticism is that the kit comes with a base so you don't need the second one. The kit also doesn't have the ability to take the blue LED bonus so if you don't have another use for it it is wasted. Luckily, I'm a Gundam tragic so will always have uses for extra bases and lighting kits.

Very rare with fair price

If you were one of the lucky ones that were able to travel to Sydney Gundam Base pop-up in 2025 and queued extremely early (like the first 40 or so) on the first day, probably you were able to grab one of these. Otherwise, the only alternative I would know of is traveling to Japan and being uber lucky of having it still being sold at Gundam bases. Otherwise, it's a second-hand market, and prices will go up. That said, the price was fair, I think it would be similar price as using a dropship service from Japan, with the exception that it's much faster and way more guaranteed you will get proper merchandise. So, Mecha Express, Cam, thank you so much for your store!
