The Jegan built to actually take a hit
The standard Jegan is a solid workhorse. The RGM-89S Stark Jegan is what happens when Londo Bell needs that workhorse to survive a heavier fight. Extra armour goes across the shoulders and torso, a backpack loaded with missile pods bolts on, and the result is the most imposing Jegan variant in the Unicorn conflict.
This is the 2010 High Grade Universal Century release.
Build difficulty
Snap-fit HGUC construction, moulded in colour, no glue required. Plenty of polycap joints keep the assembly straightforward. The one thing worth knowing before you start: the shoulder-mounted missile pods restrict elbow movement to roughly 90 degrees, which is a design trade-off rather than a build problem. Suitable as a first HGUC kit.
Technical highlights
The shoulder and backpack missile pod armour is fully detachable, which recreates the purge gimmick from the anime and gives you two genuinely different looks: full combat loadout with pods attached, or a leaner stripped-down mobile suit mode. The shoulder armour itself moves independently of the arm, so you can swing it out of the way to recover some of the range of motion the pods cost you. The weapon set is the Stark's signature heavy loadout: hyper bazooka, beam rifle and twin beam sabers.

What to watch for
The trade-off is arm movement, and it is a direct consequence of the armour that makes this kit worth buying. With the shoulder pods attached, elbow bend is limited to roughly 90 degrees. The shoulder armour itself swings clear of the arm to recover some of that motion, which helps but does not fully solve it. This is a known characteristic of the design, not a defect in your particular box.
Beyond that, build reviews are positive: one calls it a successful capture of the anime's details, proportions and more aggressive look, with good articulation for what it is.
Builder tips: use the swing-out shoulder armour deliberately when posing, since leaving it locked in the default position is what causes most of the reported stiffness. Build the standard-armour stripped configuration first to check the base articulation before committing to the full pod loadout. Panel lining the blue and grey armour is worth doing, since the moulded detail is subtle.
Build notes
No glue and no paint required. Nippers, a hobby knife and sanding sticks. Expect around an hour and a half to two hours. Recommended age 15 and over.
