Bandai's biggest HG ever, hiding a fully built Mass Production Nu Gundam underneath
The TX-ff104 Alyzeus is the second film in the Hathaway's Flash trilogy made tangible. Hathaway Noa's Mafty resistance is fielding mobile suits that no longer fit the silhouette of the suits we know from earlier in the Universal Century. The Alyzeus is the proof of concept. It carries a fully built RX-94 Mass Production Type Nu Gundam inside its outer armour shell, with the prototype technology from Penelope's development bolted into the exterior.
For the builder, this is the biggest HG kit Bandai has ever made. 25 cm tall in MS Mode. Four buildable configurations. Snap-fit construction. Aimed squarely at the builder who's done a few HGs and wants a kit with serious shelf presence without stepping up to Master Grade.
Build difficulty
The Alyzeus uses Skill Level 1 assembly on Bandai's box rating, no glue, no paint, no advanced techniques. It carries the runner count and complexity of a much larger kit. Expect 8 to 12 hours of build time at a relaxed pace, longer if you panel line, decal, or detail the inner frame. The transformation gimmicks are designed to be intuitive rather than fiddly, but the parts-swap between configurations takes practice the first time. Recommended for builders who have completed at least one standard HG before, though confident first-time builders can absolutely do it with patience and a sharp pair of nippers.
Technical highlights
The colour separation is the headline engineering feat. Most of the Alyzeus's armour tones are reproduced through individual moulded parts rather than stickers. The plasma reactor accents are moulded in clear plastic for a genuine translucent glow. Articulation is strong across the joints despite the kit's bulk. The inner Mass Production Type Nu Gundam carries hidden sub-arms inside the front skirt armour that deploy beam sabers for close-quarters poses. The kit uses a mix of plastic and ABS as standard for Bandai HG. The included display base supports the weight in all four configurations, important for Flight Form where the kit doesn't stand on its own.
What makes this kit special
-
The biggest HG kit ever made. 25 cm tall in MS Mode, closer to Master Grade scale than HG, at the 1/144 price and complexity tier.
-
First-ever Mass Production Type Nu Gundam Gunpla. The RX-94 Mass Production Nu Gundam has never been released as a kit before. This is its debut.
-
Four full configurations. MS Mode, Flight Form, Half-Destroyed State, Mass Production Nu Gundam (Separated). Each is a structural change, not a pose change.
-
Armour purge gimmick. The exterior shell fully separates to reveal the Mass Production Nu Gundam underneath. The leftover armour and shelf nozzles attach to the left shoulder in a fin-funnel-style silhouette that nods to the original RX-93 Nu Gundam.
-
Clear plasma reactor parts. The reactors are moulded in clear plastic for a translucent glow without paint.
-
Display base included. Supports flight poses and transformation displays without the kit toppling.
-
Snap-fit construction. No glue or paint required to reach a presentable result.

Buying this as a gift for a long-time builder?
If you're shopping for someone who's been into Gunpla for years and you have no idea what "PG" or "MG" means, here's why this works.
The Alyzeus is a first-ever release, the only way to get the Mass Production Type Nu Gundam as a model kit. That means you don't have to know what's already on their shelf. It can't be a duplicate. The box is substantial, so it looks like a proper gift when it arrives. The build itself is meaningful enough that they'll get many hours of enjoyment out of it, not just another piece for the backlog.
What it actually is in plain language: a 25 cm tall plastic mobile suit kit that the recipient assembles themselves. No glue or paint required. It transforms between four different display configurations, including a hidden second robot inside the outer armour. It's one of the most talked-about Gunpla releases of 2026 and a safe pick for any builder who's been collecting for a year or more.

What to watch for
Based on verified early reviews from the April 2026 international release:
-
The kit benefits from the included stand. Early reviewers note that the Alyzeus, particularly in Flight Form, doesn't stand reliably on its own without the provided display base. Set up the stand before posing.
-
Clean nub removal matters more than usual. The kit's surface area is large enough that gate marks read at a distance more than on a smaller HG. Take time with sharp nippers and a hobby knife to keep the plastic crisp.
-
Transformation is intuitive once learned. Reviewers report no excessive force is needed for parts swaps, but the first run-through benefits from following the manual carefully rather than improvising.
Builder Tips. Panel lining with a black or grey Gundam Marker on the armour seams sharpens the look dramatically given the kit's size. The plasma reactor clear parts respond well to a light coat of clear yellow or clear blue paint if you want to push the glow effect further.
Build notes
No glue required, this is a snap-fit kit. A basic Gunpla tool kit (sharp side cutters or nippers, a hobby knife for clean-up, a panel line marker) is recommended though not essential. Allow 8 to 12 hours total build time at a relaxed pace, longer if you panel line or detail the frame. No batteries required. Recommended age 15 and over.
