Ryusei-Go started life as Akihiro Altland's Graze Custom. After Akihiro moved up to piloting the Gundam Gusion Rebake, Tekkadan's Turbines allies reworked his old machine with newer tech and handed it to Norba Shino, who renamed it Ryusei-Go. The pink colour scheme is Shino's own choice, not a factory finish, and it's one of the more distinctive paint jobs in the whole HGIBO Graze family.

If you're building the Tekkadan roster, this is the kit that tells that specific hand-me-down story: two pilots, one machine, a very different look each time.

Build difficulty

This is an intermediate build. Snap-fit assembly, no glue required, with a part count and complexity in line with the rest of the HGIBO Graze line. Nippers are handy for clean part removal from the runners.

Assembly Guide

SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED
Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.
No Cement Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

No Painting Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is this Graze pink? Is that an official colour scheme?

It is, though it's a pilot's choice rather than a factory Gjallarhorn colour. This machine started as Akihiro Altland's Graze Custom. When Akihiro moved up to piloting the Gundam Gusion Rebake, the Turbines reworked his old machine for Norba Shino, who repainted it pink and renamed it Ryusei-Go. It's one of the most distinctive colour jobs in the whole HGIBO Graze family.

Do I need to paint it to get that pink finish?

No. The parts are moulded in pink with grey accents straight off the runners, so the core colour scheme is there without painting. Foil stickers cover the smaller markings. Painting is only needed if you want to push the detail further.

How does this compare in build difficulty to a standard HG kit?

It's an intermediate build, consistent with the rest of the HGIBO Graze line. Snap-fit assembly, no glue required. If you've built another Graze variant before, the process here will feel familiar.

What weapons and accessories are included?

A rifle for ranged work and the signature Graze Axe for melee. Ryusei-Go also carries newly sculpted head, shoulder and rear waist armour that aren't shared with the base Graze Custom kit. A polycap set and foil marking stickers are included too.

Does it come with a display stand?

No display base is included. The kit uses a standard 3mm peg, so any compatible 1/144 Action Base works, Action Base 5 or the universal Action Base 1 are both good options and sold separately.

Awesome kit, great extras. Only criticism is that the kit comes with a base so you don't need the second one. The kit also doesn't have the ability to take the blue LED bonus so if you don't have another use for it it is wasted. Luckily, I'm a Gundam tragic so will always have uses for extra bases and lighting kits.

Very rare with fair price

If you were one of the lucky ones that were able to travel to Sydney Gundam Base pop-up in 2025 and queued extremely early (like the first 40 or so) on the first day, probably you were able to grab one of these. Otherwise, the only alternative I would know of is traveling to Japan and being uber lucky of having it still being sold at Gundam bases. Otherwise, it's a second-hand market, and prices will go up. That said, the price was fair, I think it would be similar price as using a dropship service from Japan, with the exception that it's much faster and way more guaranteed you will get proper merchandise. So, Mecha Express, Cam, thank you so much for your store!
