Bandai 1/144 HGIBO Gundam Astaroth
The ASW-G-29 Gundam Astaroth is one of the Gundam Frames from Iron-Blooded Orphans: Urdr Hunt and the Moon Steel manga, a side-story Gundam built by the same Calamity War engineers responsible for Barbatos, Bael, and the rest of the 72-strong Gundam Frame lineage. The Astaroth's signature look is the heavy Demolition Knife mounted on the back — a brutal close-combat weapon that captures the gritty Tekkadan-era aesthetic perfectly.
This kit gives you one of the more distinctive Gundam Frames that didn't make it to the main anime, with a unique silhouette that stands apart from Barbatos and Bael on the shelf.
This kit is designed for beginner-to-intermediate builders and is a clean snap-fit build with strong colour separation.
The Astaroth carries the standard HGIBO Gundam Frame engineering, with full inner-frame articulation, and adds the unique Demolition Knife and knife backpack. Standard close-combat weaponry — a hand knife and rifle — round out the loadout. The kit is fully compatible with the HGIBO Customise Parts system, so you can swap weapons and armour with other Gundam Frame kits if you want to build a custom Astaroth variant.

What to Watch For
The Demolition Knife is heavy at the back — the backpack peg holds well but the kit can lean if posed too far forward without an Action Base. The shoulder armour can rub against the chest piece during arm rotation; a gentle sanding of the inner shoulder edge gives you full clearance.
Builder Tips: Black panel lining on the white armour gives the Astaroth's mechanical detail a major lift. The kit is largely black and white, so a satin topcoat ties the finish together. Gold accents respond well to a darker wash for added depth.
Build Notes
Snap-fit assembly. No glue required. Nippers recommended for clean part removal. Expect a 2-3 hour build with panel lining. Action Base sold separately and recommended given the Demolition Knife's weight. Recommended age 15+.
