Hiroto's two-in-one Build Divers ace

The Jupitive Gundam is Hiroto's mobile suit from Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE, and it's genuinely a two-stage build: you assemble the compact Core Gundam first, then equip the Jupiter Armor to transform it into the full-sized Jupitive Gundam. If you like the idea of two Gunpla builds in one box, this is a fun one to add to the queue.

Build difficulty

This is a standard High Grade build: snap-fit, no cement and no paint required. Because you're effectively building the Core Gundam and then the Jupiter Armor on top of it, budget more time than a single-stage HG, somewhere in the two to three hour range depending on how careful you are with the effect parts.

Two independent build reviews (a search-indexed GunJap review and a direct SUTD Gunpla Club build write-up) both flagged the same two things: nub placement that's easy to miss when trimming parts off the runner, and a loose fit on some of the armour connections, especially around the shoulders. That's a genuine two-source match, not a single reviewer's opinion, so it's worth going slow with the nippers and double-checking the shoulder armour seats properly during the build. One of the two reviews also flagged the beam saber storage point as fragile, so handle that part gently when swapping the saber in and out.

Build notes

No glue or paint required. A basic tool set (nippers, hobby knife, tweezers) covers everything. Take your time trimming parts off the runner given the nub-placement note above. Build time runs around two to three hours across both stages. Recommended 15 and up.

Assembly Guide

SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED
Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.
No Cement Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

No Painting Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.

Awesome kit, great extras. Only criticism is that the kit comes with a base so you don't need the second one. The kit also doesn't have the ability to take the blue LED bonus so if you don't have another use for it it is wasted. Luckily, I'm a Gundam tragic so will always have uses for extra bases and lighting kits.

Very rare with fair price

If you were one of the lucky ones that were able to travel to Sydney Gundam Base pop-up in 2025 and queued extremely early (like the first 40 or so) on the first day, probably you were able to grab one of these. Otherwise, the only alternative I would know of is traveling to Japan and being uber lucky of having it still being sold at Gundam bases. Otherwise, it's a second-hand market, and prices will go up. That said, the price was fair, I think it would be similar price as using a dropship service from Japan, with the exception that it's much faster and way more guaranteed you will get proper merchandise. So, Mecha Express, Cam, thank you so much for your store!
