The HG00 1/144 QAN[T] (Quanta) is the High Grade kit of the GNT-0000 00 QAN[T], Setsuna F. Seiei's final Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam 00: A Wakening of the Trailblazer. It was released as HG00 No.66 in August 2010, and it is still the easiest way to put the movie-era Celestial Being Gundam on a Gundam 00 shelf. It belongs to the Anno Domini timeline, so it sits naturally beside the TV-series Gundams.

Build difficulty

This is a 2010 High Grade kit, so the build is straightforward snap-fit work. Expect a standard Skill Level 2 build: nippers, a hobby knife and some clean-up where parts come off the runner, with no glue needed for general assembly. A new builder can handle it, and a more experienced builder can spend the time on panel lining and a top coat.

Technical highlights

Clear parts are used for the lenses on the face, chest, elbows and knees. The GN Shield attaches at the shoulder and articulates on a jointed arm unit, and six sword bits (two each of A, B and C) sit on it. Those bits combine with a normal blade or an extra blade to build the GN Sword V in Buster Sword or Buster Rifle mode. The head tilts on a double-sided ball-joint neck, the elbows bend up to 120 degrees, the knees are double-jointed and the ankles tilt. A custom display stand is included in the box.

Standard hobby tools are enough: nippers, a hobby knife, sanding sticks, a file and tweezers. If you plan to top coat the finished kit, a matte top coat is best kept off the clear parts, so mask them or spray the clear parts while they are off the kit.

Assembly Guide

SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED
Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.
No Cement Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

No Painting Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.

Awesome kit, great extras. Only criticism is that the kit comes with a base so you don't need the second one. The kit also doesn't have the ability to take the blue LED bonus so if you don't have another use for it it is wasted. Luckily, I'm a Gundam tragic so will always have uses for extra bases and lighting kits.

Very rare with fair price

If you were one of the lucky ones that were able to travel to Sydney Gundam Base pop-up in 2025 and queued extremely early (like the first 40 or so) on the first day, probably you were able to grab one of these. Otherwise, the only alternative I would know of is traveling to Japan and being uber lucky of having it still being sold at Gundam bases. Otherwise, it's a second-hand market, and prices will go up. That said, the price was fair, I think it would be similar price as using a dropship service from Japan, with the exception that it's much faster and way more guaranteed you will get proper merchandise. So, Mecha Express, Cam, thank you so much for your store!
