Bandai 1/144 HGIBO Gundam Gusion
The ASW-G-11 Gundam Gusion is one of the heavy-set Gundam Frames from Iron-Blooded Orphans, recovered by Tekkadan early in Season 1 and rebuilt as the Gundam Gusion Rebake. This is the original Gusion configuration as it appears in flashbacks and pre-Tekkadan service: a much bulkier, more imposing Gundam Frame than Barbatos, designed for raw brawling power rather than mobility. The kit's massive hammer and machine gun loadout reflects its role as a heavy assault unit.
If you collect IBO Gundam Frames, the original Gusion is the natural counterpart to Barbatos — same Calamity War lineage, completely different design philosophy.
This kit is designed for beginner-to-intermediate builders and is a clean snap-fit build with strong colour separation.
The Gusion runs on the standard HGIBO Gundam Frame inner structure with heavy external armour. The massive hammer and machine gun both mount on the backpack for storage, and the kit is fully compatible with the wider HGIBO Customise Parts system. Colour separation handles the dark green, beige, and grey scheme through the runners with minimal painting needed.
What Makes This Kit Special
-
Original Gusion Configuration: The pre-rebake heavy assault loadout, distinct from the Gusion Rebake and Gusion Rebake Full City variants
-
Massive Hammer: Over-sized two-handed hammer that defines the Gusion's brawling silhouette
-
Back-Mounted Machine Gun: Heavy-calibre machine gun stores on the backpack and detaches for combat poses
-
Gundam Frame Inner Structure: Full IBO Gundam Frame articulation underneath the heavy armour
-
Heavyweight Silhouette: One of the bulkiest 1/144 HGIBO kits, fills more shelf space than Barbatos or Astaroth
-
Compatible With HGIBO Customise Parts: Swap armour and weapons with other IBO kits
-
Action Base Compatible: Standard 3mm peg for aerial display

What to Watch For
The Gusion is heavy. The single-leg standing poses are stable on a flat shelf but the kit can lean if the hammer is held off to one side. The hammer's two-handed grip works best with the included hand parts — the standard fists struggle with the grip thickness. An Action Base is genuinely useful for dynamic poses given the weight.
Builder Tips: A heavy panel line wash brings out the layered armour. The kit is largely dark green and beige so a black wash on the green and a dark brown wash on the beige works well. A satin topcoat sells the heavy-armour feel.
Build Notes
Snap-fit assembly. No glue required. Nippers recommended for clean part removal. Expect a 2-3 hour build with panel lining. Action Base sold separately and recommended given the kit's weight and the hammer's bulk. Recommended age 15+.
