When the AGE System decides normal isn't enough
The AGE-1's onboard AI, AGE System, builds combat data from every fight and unlocks new equipment as Flit Asuno needs it. Titus is the first upgrade it produces: heavier armour, bulkier limbs, and a shift from finesse to raw striking power. It looks like a completely different mobile suit, and in terms of how it fights, it basically is.
This is the 2011 High Grade release, the second kit in the HG AGE line.
Build difficulty
One of the quickest High Grades in the whole Mecha Express catalogue to put together. Snap-fit, moulded in colour, no glue required, with a simple part layout and only a handful of stickers for the head and chest AGE symbol. Genuinely suitable as a first kit, and a good one to build in a single sitting.
Technical highlights
Despite the bulked-up armour, articulation holds up well for an HG. The double-axis system carries over from the base AGE-1, the arms bend past the usual 90-degree HG limit, and the legs bend deeply. The signature Titus gimmick is the clear effect parts for the wrists, knees and shoulders, moulded in translucent plastic to represent the impact bursts Titus generates when it strikes. These attach directly to the body rather than being separate hand-held props.
What makes this kit special
-
Interchangeable impact effect parts: translucent pieces for the wrists, knees and shoulders that clip straight onto the body.
-
Beyond-90-degree arm articulation: a genuine step up from the typical HG limit, despite the heavier armour.
-
One of the fastest HG builds available: simple part layout, minimal stickers, a satisfying same-session build.
-
A visibly different silhouette: heavier and blockier than the AGE-1 Normal, without needing a separate frame kit.
-
Foil stickers for facial and chest detail: keeps the sticker count low while still hitting the key markings.
What's in the box

What to watch for
The one repeated note across independent reviews is that the legs can't spread as wide as the base AGE-1's, simply because the added bulk gets in the way. That's a design trade-off rather than a fault. A couple of builders also flag the rear waist joint as a little loose, wiggling more than they'd like under handling.
Set against that, reviewers consistently call it one of the fastest, most straightforward HG builds around, with articulation that's genuinely good for the grade once you accept the wider stance limit.
Builder tips: if the waist joint feels loose after handling, a thin coat of clear nail polish on the peg, left to dry fully, restores the friction. Don't force a wide leg stance, it isn't what the design allows for. The clear effect parts click straight onto the wrists, knees and shoulders, so try them in a few different combinations before settling on a display pose.
Build notes
No glue and no paint required. Nippers and a hobby knife are enough, with sanding sticks for a cleaner finish if you want one. Expect under an hour. Recommended age 15 and over.
