4 × $16.99
Key features

1. Full transformation mechanics: converts between mobile suit mode and attack formation without part-swapping, exactly as the Bawoo splits in Gundam ZZ.

2. 1/100 RE/100 scale: large enough to display alongside MG kits, with colour separation and detail that punches above the entry MG level.

3. Neo Zeon angular design: the aggressive panelled geometry makes this one of the more striking Universal Century builds on a display shelf.

Bandai 1/100 RE/100 AMX-107 Bawoo

The Bawoo does something no other RE/100 kit could claim first — it actually transforms.

The AMX-107 Bawoo from Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ is the first kit in the RE/100 line to feature a transformation and combination gimmick. It splits into the Bawoo Attacker and the Bawoo Nutter, exactly as it does in the show, then recombines for a fully mobile suit configuration. This is RE/100 #06 — a 2026 reissue of the original 2016 kit, back in print for builders who missed it the first time.

What Makes This Kit Special

The split-and-combine transformation is the standout feature here. Both the Attacker and Nutter modes hold together well as standalone display pieces, and the fully combined Bawoo stands at 1/100 scale with the proportions you'd expect from a Master Grade-adjacent kit without the inner frame complexity. The waist features a movable mechanism to support wide-stance poses. Markings across the body are applied via tetron stickers for a clean finish.

Assembly Guide

Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.

Frequently Asked Questions

What scale is the RE/100 Bawoo and how tall is the completed model?

The Bawoo is built at 1/100 scale. The completed mobile suit mode stands approximately 20 cm tall.

Does the Bawoo kit transform?

Yes. The RE/100 Bawoo features full transformation mechanics between mobile suit mode and the split attack formation. The binder unit separates cleanly and the main body converts without needing to remove parts.

Do I need glue or paint?

No glue is required. The kit is snap-fit throughout. Paint is not needed for a clean finish, but the panel line work on the angular Neo Zeon armour is rewarding.

What level of skill is required?

This is a Skill Level 2 kit. It is suitable for builders who have completed a few HG kits and are ready to step up to 1/100 scale. The part count and steps are more involved than a typical HG but the RE/100 format keeps it manageable.

Is this suitable as a gift for a Gundam ZZ fan?

Yes, particularly for someone who builds regularly. The Bawoo is a collector piece for ZZ fans and the 1/100 scale gives it real shelf presence.
