Two Gundams in one box
The Gundam Virtue is Tieria Erde's mobile suit from the first season of Mobile Suit Gundam 00, a heavy weapons platform built around a secret: strip away the bulky external armour and the slimmer Gundam Nadleeh is underneath, fully built and ready to pilot on its own. This Master Grade kit is the first time that reveal has been captured properly in plastic, and it's the reason the box is bigger than most MG kits on the shelf.
If you build one MG a year, this is a strong pick for the collector who wants an engineering story as much as a mobile suit.
Build difficulty
This is a Skill Level 3 kit on the Bandai box: full hobby tool kit recommended, cement and paint both come into play for a clean finish, and the part count is high because you're effectively building two complete mobile suits (Nadleeh, then the Virtue armour shell around it). Budget more build time than a standard MG. Not a first MG, but a rewarding one for a builder who has a few kits behind them.
Technical highlights
The external armour of the Virtue detaches in full to reveal the Gundam Nadleeh within, and the internal lining parts are moulded to add density and realism to the reveal rather than leaving a hollow shell. The GN cable on the legs uses resin parts with hologram processing for extra visual brilliance. Both GN cannons on the shoulders expand and contract, and can be swung up to the Virtue's upper body for its attack form. Nadleeh's own shield, GN beam rifle, and matching effect parts are included, along with a solar furnace as a bonus part.
What Makes This Kit Special
-
Full Nadleeh reveal: the external Virtue armour comes apart in one deliberate sequence to expose a complete, independently posable Gundam Nadleeh underneath.
-
Two GN cannons, one attack form: the shoulder-mounted cannons extend and swing up to the Virtue's back for its signature bombardment stance.
-
Hologram-processed GN cable: the resin leg cable is treated for extra shine rather than moulded as flat plastic.
-
Two pilot figures: Tieria Erde in uniform and a second figure in a dress are both included.
-
Nadleeh's own loadout: a dedicated shield, GN beam rifle and effect parts ship with the kit, not sold as a separate add-on.
-
Bonus solar furnace part: an extra display piece included alongside the main build.

What to Watch For
A general web sweep found builder discussion of this kit's size and two-stage build (Nadleeh first, then the Virtue shell around it), with more than one build log noting the armour panels connecting to Nadleeh can feel slightly loose or rattly once fully assembled, even though each panel individually clicks into place. No dedicated professional review of this specific 2021 release turned up a structural fault beyond that fit note, so this is stated as builder feedback rather than a confirmed pattern.
Builder Tips: Dry-fit the Virtue armour panels onto Nadleeh before committing to a final pose. If you plan to build Nadleeh as a genuinely separate display piece later, some builders recommend a second kit rather than repeatedly stripping the armour off the same one.
Build Notes
Cement and paint both come into play for a clean finish, on top of standard cutting, trimming and sanding. A hobby knife, sprue cutters, tweezers, and assorted sandpaper grits are the minimum tool kit. Expect a long build session given the two-suits-in-one part count. Recommended age 15+.
