Bandai 1/100 MG Gouf Ver 2.0
The MS-07B Gouf is the mobile suit Lieutenant Ramba Ral used to push the White Base to its limits in Mobile Suit Gundam (0079) — a high-performance Zeon production unit built for ace pilots, distinct from the mass-production Zaku line. The Gouf Ver 2.0 is Bandai's modern Master Grade reissue, sitting on the same advanced inner frame that drove the MG Zaku II Ver 2.0 forward, with refinements that improve range of motion and pose stability.
If you collect Master Grade One Year War kits, the Gouf Ver 2.0 is one of the standout late-2010s releases and the natural companion to MG Zaku II Ver 2.0 on a Zeon shelf.
This kit is designed for intermediate-to-advanced builders and is a snap-fit build with detailed inner-frame assembly.
The Ver 2.0 frame brings linked front and side skirt armour — lifting the front skirt automatically slides the side skirt back, which clears the legs for full forward kicks and deep crouches that older MG kits couldn't manage. The Heat Saber and Heat Rod are both included as articulated parts, and the kit includes both a standard hand and the Zeon ace's three-finger gauntlet hand designs for the Gouf's distinctive look. Colour separation is excellent, with the iconic Zeon blue and grey scheme handled through multi-coloured runners.
What Makes This Kit Special

-

What to Watch For
The Heat Rod is articulated through several short segments and can feel fiddly to pose for the first time — work the segments gently and avoid forcing tight curves on initial setup. The Ver 2.0 inner frame is detailed and small parts can snap if you twist them off the runner; nip cleanly and trust the engineering. The skirt link mechanism is delicate; over-extending the front skirt past its natural range can damage the link arm.
Builder Tips: Panel lining is non-negotiable on the Gouf. The Zeon blue armour has deep mechanical detail that disappears straight from the runner. A black panel line marker brings everything to life. A satin or matte topcoat ties the Master Grade finish together.
Build Notes
Snap-fit assembly. No glue required. Sharp nippers and a hobby knife are recommended given the part density. Expect a 6-10 hour build with panel lining and decals. Action Base sold separately. Recommended age 15+.
