Meet CharZaku-Kun, the red ace of the Gunpla mascot line
CharZaku-Kun is the Char's Zaku II-toned sibling to Gunpla-kun and Zakupla-kun, the same life-size mascot format done up in the red MS-06S colourway from the original Mobile Suit Gundam. He's styled after Char Aznable's own Zaku II, mono-eye and all, and comes with a full Zaku loadout scaled to his size.
Like the rest of the DX Set line, he's simple and satisfying to build, whether that's your first-ever kit or a palate cleanser between bigger projects. Build him standing proud with his Heat Hawk and Zaku Machine Gun, or lock him into his signature "still on the runner" pose using the parts made just for that gag.
Build difficulty
About as approachable as Gunpla gets. Bandai rates him for builders aged 8 and up, the part count is small, and the whole thing is snap-fit, no cement required for a standard build. Standard Bandai pre-coloured plastic throughout, so take your time with the nippers on the fine mono-eye and antenna parts and you'll be finished well within the hour.
Technical highlights
CharZaku-Kun is moulded in Bandai's usual pre-coloured styrene, in the red MS-06S scheme rather than the standard Zaku II green. His mono-eye is articulated, giving him the same left-right eye movement gag long associated with the character. The included runner-display parts recreate his "still on the sprue" look, moulded on their own dedicated runner stamped with the MS-06S Zaku II tag. Colour separation comes almost entirely from the moulded plastic itself.
What makes this kit special
-
The Char's Zaku II colourway: the same red MS-06S scheme as one of Gundam's most recognisable mobile suits, on the DX mascot format.
-
Two display modes in one box: build him fully assembled, or lock him into his signature "still on the runner" pose using the dedicated recreation parts.
-
Articulated mono-eye: the eye itself moves side to side, the character's signature detail.
-
A full Zaku loadout: Heat Hawk, Zaku Machine Gun and Zaku Bazooka, all scaled to his tiny frame.
-
His own display stand: a dedicated pedestal for showing him off, weapons and all.
-
A proper first build: snap-fit, low part count, no cement needed for the standard assembly, and rated by Bandai for builders aged 8 and up.

Compatible accessories
CharZaku-Kun's joints and weapon-holding hands are sized just for him. There's no official crossover accessory range for this line, so we won't pretend one exists. His Heat Hawk, Machine Gun and Bazooka are unique to this kit, and the included stand is the only display base he needs.
Build your mascot collection
CharZaku-Kun isn't the only member of his family we carry. The original green-toned Bandai 1/1 Zakupla-Kun DX Set (With Runner Ver. Recreation Parts) is built in the same DX format, and the Bandai 1/1 Gunpla-kun DX Set rounds out the mascot lineup. For the pocket-sized version of the cast, the Bandai Gunpla-Kun 3D Rubber Mascot Keychain range is also in stock.

What to watch for
Drawing on the sources available at time of writing (Bandai's own official listing, HobbySearch and HLJ retailer pages): no independent builder reviews or community build threads were found for this specific kit at the time of research. It's a newer release in a niche mascot line, so that's a genuine gap in coverage rather than a sign of trouble. This section will be updated if and when real builder feedback turns up.
Build notes
No cement required for the standard build, snap-fit throughout. Keep a pair of nippers and a fine sanding stick or file on hand for clean-up around the mono-eye and antenna parts. Suitable from age 8 with light supervision for younger builders. A short build, easily finished in one sitting.
