Den-O in two forms from one kit, the red oni and the base suit

This is the Figure-rise Standard Kamen Rider Den-O Sword Form & Plat Form, a single snap-fit kit that builds Den-O and swaps between his two signature looks. Build the red-and-black Sword Form, the fighter possessed by Momotaros with the peach-motif eyes, or swap the armour and head parts back to the black base Plat Form. It is moulded in colour, so both forms read right off the runner, and it comes with the DenGasher in sword mode plus a clear Aura Sword effect.

Build difficulty

It is a snap-fit kit, so no glue and no paint are needed to build it, and the colour is moulded in. Swapping between the two forms is a parts-swap, so you display one at a time rather than both together. There are a few small pieces and effect parts, so it asks a little care, but it's a beginner-friendly build. A pair of nippers is the main tool worth having. Recommended age 15 and up.

We haven't found a body of independent builder reviews for this specific kit, so we can't pass on verified fit-and-finish feedback. One honest note: the two forms are a parts-swap, so you display Sword Form or Plat Form at a time rather than both at once. No cement is needed at any point.

Builder tip: the red armour looks sharper with a light gloss coat, and a black panel line on the base Plat Form pulls out the mechanical detail.

Assembly Guide

SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED
Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.
No Cement Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

No Painting Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.

Awesome kit, great extras. Only criticism is that the kit comes with a base so you don't need the second one. The kit also doesn't have the ability to take the blue LED bonus so if you don't have another use for it it is wasted. Luckily, I'm a Gundam tragic so will always have uses for extra bases and lighting kits.

Very rare with fair price

If you were one of the lucky ones that were able to travel to Sydney Gundam Base pop-up in 2025 and queued extremely early (like the first 40 or so) on the first day, probably you were able to grab one of these. Otherwise, the only alternative I would know of is traveling to Japan and being uber lucky of having it still being sold at Gundam bases. Otherwise, it's a second-hand market, and prices will go up. That said, the price was fair, I think it would be similar price as using a dropship service from Japan, with the exception that it's much faster and way more guaranteed you will get proper merchandise. So, Mecha Express, Cam, thank you so much for your store!
