Bandai 1/144 HGFC GF13-017NJII Burning Gundam

Bandai 1/144 HGFC GF13-017NJII Burning Gundam

The Bandai 1/144 HGFC GF13-017NJII Burning Gundam is the High Grade kit of Domon Kasshu's iconic mobile fighter from Mobile Fighter G Gundam, known in Japan as the God Gundam and in the English localisation as the Burning Gundam. Whichever name you know it by, the GF13-017NJII is the same mobile suit — Neo Japan's ultimate weapon in the Gundam Fight tournament, built around close-quarters martial arts combat, the Hyper Mode power-up, and the signature Burning/God Finger finishing move. This is the kit that defines the Future Century timeline and Domon Kasshu's journey as a fighter.

This kit is beginner-friendly HGFC snap-fit construction, standing approximately 13 cm tall when complete. The GF13-017NJII's red, white, and gold colour scheme is delivered through pre-coloured runners with good colour separation, and the kit includes beam swords and a hyper bazooka alongside hand parts for the Burning Finger pose.

The HGFC Burning Gundam is best suited to beginners and intermediate builders who want a straightforward, satisfying build with strong poseability for recreating Domon's fighting stances. The articulation is well-suited to dynamic martial arts poses, and the compact 1/144 scale makes it an easy addition to any shelf. For the most detailed version of this mobile suit, the RG God Gundam is also available in the lineup.

What Makes This Kit Special

  • Burning/God Finger Configuration: Hand parts are included to recreate the signature Burning Finger (God Finger) pose — the finishing move that defines Domon Kasshu's fighting style across both the English and Japanese versions of the series.
  • Hyper Mode Silhouette: The GF13-017NJII's design faithfully captures the Hyper Mode silhouette with the distinctive shoulder and chest vents that activate during the mobile fighter's powered-up state.
  • Strong Poseability for Martial Arts Stances: The HGFC joint system is designed with G Gundam's combat style in mind, allowing a wide range of dynamic fighting poses beyond what standard HGUC kits offer.
  • Pre-Coloured Red, White, and Gold: The striking colour scheme is delivered through pre-coloured runners with good separation, requiring minimal paint for a display-ready result.
  • Beam Swords Included: The GF13-017NJII's beam swords are included for close-quarters combat display poses.
  • Hyper Bazooka Included: The ranged weapon option is included alongside the melee loadout for display versatility.
  • Beginner-Friendly HGFC Construction: Standard snap-fit assembly — no glue required, accessible for first-time builders.
  • Future Century Rarity: The HGFC line is one of the few dedicated G Gundam kit ranges, making this a distinctive addition to any collection that goes beyond the mainstream UC and CE timelines.

Assembly Guide

Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.
