The white-winged Gundam from Endless Waltz, rebuilt on the RG inner frame
This is Heero Yuy's Wing Gundam Zero in its Endless Waltz form (also sold as Wing Gundam Zero Custom), built at 1/144 on the Real Grade Advanced MS Joint inner frame. It is one of the best-known silhouettes in Gundam Wing: a slim blue, white and red body carrying a pair of oversized feathered wings and two long buster rifles.
It suits builders who want the Wing Zero as a display piece with real presence, and who do not mind a little finishing work to get it looking its best.
Build difficulty
This kit is aimed at ages 15 and over, and it sits at Skill Level 2 on our scale. It snaps together with no glue and no paint. The body goes together quickly, while the wings are the repetitive part of the build, with a lot of small feather pieces on their own joints. Allow an evening or two. Beginners can build it with patience, but expect to spend time on stickers and clean-up.
Technical highlights
The Real Grade inner frame gives the kit proper layered armour over a posable skeleton. The wing binders are jointed and the feather tips move on their own joints, so the wings can be opened out, folded in or fanned for different poses. The cockpit hatch opens, the chest hatches open to show the machine cannons, and the beam sabers store on the backpack. The two buster rifles can be joined into one long weapon. Colour separation is good, and the finer detail comes from the included stickers and a little panel lining.
What makes this kit special
-
Jointed wing feathers: the feather tips and wing binders pose independently, so the wings are not one fixed piece.
-
Buster rifles: two rifles that can be joined into one for the signature long-barrel look.
-
Opening gimmicks: cockpit hatch and chest hatches open, with the machine cannons revealed underneath.
-
Atmospheric entry mode: the shoulders extend outwards for a conversion pose built into the kit.
-
Four hand types: fists, open palms, weapon-holding hands and the posable RG hands.
-
Action Base ready: an adapter is included so the kit can sit on an Action Base for flight poses.

What to watch for
Some builders rate this kit highly, and one describes it as sturdy for an RG. A few points do come up in reviews and discussion threads, so go in with eyes open.
-
Loose joints: several builders report loose shoulder pieces and floppy wrist joints on the weapon-holding hands. Clear nail polish on the joint surfaces is a common fix.
-
Heavy backpack: several builders say the wings make the kit back-heavy, and some found the body would not stay on the backpack in more extreme poses. An Action Base helps.
-
Plain without finishing: one reviewer found the kit looked flat straight from the box and said the stickers and panel lining made a large difference.
-
Ankle tilt: the same reviewer noted the ankles do not tilt as far as they would like.
Builder tip: if you plan a topcoat, use a water-based one, as the kit has polypropylene parts. Keep matte coats off the clear parts.
Build notes
No glue or paint is needed. Nippers, a hobby knife, a file and tweezers cover the build, and a panel-lining marker is worth having. Allow an evening or two. Recommended age 15 and over.
