Bandai 1/144 HGUC MSN-03 Jagd Doga (Quess Paraya Custom)
This is the MSN-03 Jagd Doga in Quess Paraya colours, her personal Neo Zeon mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack. Quess is the troubled teenager who defects to Char Aznable mid-film, and the green-and-purple Jagd Doga is the unit she pilots in the final battle around Axis. The Jagd Doga itself is a heavy-attack mobile suit built around a mega gatling gun and a set of psycommu-controlled funnels, designed to overwhelm Federation defences at range.
If you build Char's Counterattack mobile suits, Quess's Jagd Doga is one of the two key Neo Zeon variants from the film and the natural counterpart to Gyunei's red unit.
This kit is designed for intermediate builders and is a snap-fit build with a higher part count than most HGUC kits in this scale.
The Jagd Doga is a chunky design, and the HGUC kit captures it well. Articulation is good for the period, with the over-built shoulders and skirt armour managed through clever joint placement. The funnels mount on the rear backpack and the kit includes clear effect parts for funnel deployment poses. Colour separation handles Quess's distinctive light green and lavender scheme through the runners, with foil stickers and decals for the markings.
What Makes This Kit Special

What to Watch For
The funnels are small and can be fiddly to mount on the backpack — take your time and avoid forcing them. The mega gatling gun is front-heavy and the holding hand can sag during long-term display; if it's an issue, swap to a two-handed pose or rest the barrel on an Action Base support arm. Foil stickers cover several large surfaces, including the chest sensor; consider decals or paint on those areas for a cleaner long-term finish.
Builder Tips: Panel lining transforms this kit. The Jagd Doga has a lot of fine armour detail that disappears straight from the runner. A dark grey marker on the green sections and a black marker on the lavender areas brings out the armour plating. A satin topcoat ties the foil stickers and bare plastic finish together.
Build Notes
Snap-fit assembly. No glue required. Nippers recommended; a hobby knife helps for cleaning the gate marks on the funnels. Expect a 3-4 hour build with panel lining and stickers. Action Base sold separately. Recommended age 15+.
