Bandai 1/100 MG RMS-106 Hi-Zack

The Bandai 1/100 Master Grade RMS-106 Hi-Zack is the Titans' mass-production mobile suit from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, derived from the Principality of Zeon's MS-06 Zaku II design. This Master Grade release captures the Hi-Zack's distinctive mono-eye and Zaku-inspired silhouette with improved manoeuvrability and the Earth Federation's post-war technology. It's the definitive version of the bridge between Zeon and Federation mobile suit development during the Gryps Conflict.

This kit includes approximately 200 parts and features snap-fit construction with no glue required. The Master Grade engineering is designed for intermediate builders with previous Gunpla experience.

The build centres on a streamlined inner frame that reflects the Hi-Zack's lighter alloy construction and improved thruster systems. You get the 120mm machine gun, beam rifle, shield, and heat hawk for close combat. The colour separation delivers the Hi-Zack's dark green, grey, and yellow scheme with minimal painting needed. The engineering improves on the original Zaku II design with enhanced shoulder and hip articulation for dynamic poses. The mono-eye features left-right tracking movement, and the kit includes dry-transfer decals designed by Kunio Okawara for authentic Titans markings.

What Makes This Kit Special

  • Zaku II Evolution Design: Post-war development combining Zeon's mono-eye aesthetics with Federation technology
  • Improved Manoeuvrability: Lighter alloy construction and enhanced thruster systems reflected in the engineering
  • Versatile Weapon Loadout: 120mm machine gun, beam rifle, shield, and heat hawk for multiple combat configurations
  • Articulated Mono-Eye: Signature Zeon-style single eye sensor with left-right tracking movement
  • Titans Colour Scheme: Dark green, grey, and yellow parts match the Gryps Conflict appearance
  • Kunio Okawara Design: Original mechanical design by the legendary mecha designer
  • Dry-Transfer Decals: Premium Titans markings for authentic surface detail
  • Enhanced Articulation: Improved over Zaku II with better shoulder and hip joint range
  • Snap-Fit Construction: No glue required for assembly, parts snap together securely

The Hi-Zack's simpler construction compared to hero mobile suits makes it an accessible entry point for Zeta Gundam kits. Gryps Conflict fans who want to build Titans forces alongside Gundam Mk-II and other Earth Federation units. Universal Century collectors interested in the post-One Year War evolution of Zeon technology under Federation control. Builders who appreciate mono-eye mobile suits and the design lineage from Zaku II to Hi-Zack. The versatile weapon loadout offers multiple display configurations from ranged combat with the beam rifle to close-quarters with the heat hawk. Best suited for builders creating Titans squadrons or exploring the political complexity of the Gryps Conflict through mass-production mobile suits rather than hero units.

Assembly Guide

Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.
