Sebzen (romanised in Japan as Siebzehn) is Maria's Gear from Xenogears, the first prototype to come out of the M Project's human-machine fusion research. Square Enix brings it into the Structure Arts Plus line, sitting alongside the standard Structure Arts Vol.1 to Vol.3 releases already familiar to Xenogears collectors.

This one's for Xenogears players who know exactly where Sebzen fits in the story, and for Structure Arts collectors building out the full Gear lineup on the shelf.

Build difficulty

Sebzen is a 206-part kit, distinctly more involved than a beginner HG-style build. It's rated intermediate to advanced: expect several assembly stages working through the frame, armour panels, and both sets of interchangeable hands, with a build time longer than a simple snap-fit kit. If you've built a few kits already and want more parts to work through, this is a reasonable next step up. If you're brand new to the hobby, it's not the easiest place to start, but it's not out of reach either with a bit of patience.

Technical highlights

The kit is moulded in Sebzen's in-game colours, so parts carry their colour straight off the runner and painting is optional rather than needed to get the intended look. Assembly Guide

SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED
Skill Level.3 Some modeling experience is recommended. Suitable for builders comfortable with more advanced assembly and a higher part count. A full set of hobby tools is recommended including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly, though care is needed with smaller connector parts. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner.
No Cement Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

No Painting Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Awesome kit, great extras. Only criticism is that the kit comes with a base so you don't need the second one. The kit also doesn't have the ability to take the blue LED bonus so if you don't have another use for it it is wasted. Luckily, I'm a Gundam tragic so will always have uses for extra bases and lighting kits.

Very rare with fair price

If you were one of the lucky ones that were able to travel to Sydney Gundam Base pop-up in 2025 and queued extremely early (like the first 40 or so) on the first day, probably you were able to grab one of these. Otherwise, the only alternative I would know of is traveling to Japan and being uber lucky of having it still being sold at Gundam bases. Otherwise, it's a second-hand market, and prices will go up. That said, the price was fair, I think it would be similar price as using a dropship service from Japan, with the exception that it's much faster and way more guaranteed you will get proper merchandise. So, Mecha Express, Cam, thank you so much for your store!
