FAQ

GSI Creos Gundam Marker Remover (Renewal)

GSI Creos Gundam Marker Remover (Renewal). The mistake undo button.

You crossed a panel line you didn't mean to. You sketched a detail that ended up wider than the part. The marker pooled. The Renewal version of GSI Creos's Gundam Marker Remover lifts the ink back off without taking the kit's plastic with it. Cap, dip, dab, gone.

If you build with Gundam Markers, this sits next to them on the bench. It is the second tool in a two-tool kit.

What it does

A fine-tipped applicator pen filled with the matching solvent for the alcohol-based Gundam Marker range. Touch it to a fresh marker line and the ink lifts. Press a soft cloth or cotton swab against the spot and it comes off the surface. Cured ink (more than an hour old) takes a couple of applications to release fully.

What's new in the Renewal version

  • Reformulated solvent: matched to the Renewal ink chemistry used in the GSI Creos Gundam Marker Renewal range. Works on the original markers too, but the chemistry pairing with the Renewal inks is what it is built for.
  • Same fine-tipped applicator: the pen-style tip delivers precise removal so you only lift the unwanted mark, not the surrounding finish.
  • Same safe-on-plastic profile: non-aggressive on Bandai polystyrene and ABS. Will not haze or soften the kit surface when used as directed.

What to watch for

Test on a runner offcut before going to the kit. Cured ink on textured or panel-line surfaces can take more than one pass to lift fully, and the second pass needs a fresh swab so you don't smear the ink across a clean panel.

Cap firmly between uses. The solvent is alcohol-based and will evaporate over a few weeks if left uncapped. A well-stored pen lasts a year of normal Gunpla use.

Not designed for use on painted finishes, decals, or top-coat lacquer. On those surfaces it can lift more than the ink. Stick to bare polystyrene and ABS surfaces.

Build notes

The tip wears with use. After roughly 50 to 100 applications it will start to feel less precise. The pen is cheap enough that replacing it is the simplest solution.

Store tip-down between sessions to keep the solvent saturated in the applicator.
