Bandai 30MF Item Shop 3 - Weapon Option Accessory Set

Arm any 30 Minutes Fantasy build

Every good fantasy world needs a weapon shop, and that's exactly what this set gives your 30 Minutes Fantasy collection. The 30MF Item Shop 3 (Weapon Option) is a small parts set built around Bandai's Armor Cross system, the swap-anything approach that runs through the whole 30MF line. It's not a figure on its own, it's the rack of gear that lets your existing 30MF builds change loadout.

If you've already got a Knight, Fighter, Lancer or Bishop on the shelf and want to give them something new to hold, this is the set that does it.

Build difficulty

This is a genuinely quick build. Two runners, a handful of parts, no cement and no paint. Everything is pre-colour-separated, so the finished weapons and rack come out looking right straight off the runner. Nippers, a hobby knife or sanding stick for gate clean-up, and tweezers for the smaller joint pieces are all you need. Suits a first-time 30MF builder just as easily as someone adding it as a five-minute extra to a bigger session.

Technical highlights

Four weapons come in the set: a longsword, a scimitar, a knife, and a mace that converts into a horseman's flail by swapping a couple of parts. The weapon rack is the standout piece here. It connects on all four sides, so it can be built out into a proper display shelf, and it's designed to also hold separately-sold 30MF faces, armour, and weapons from other sets, not just the parts included in this box.

What makes this kit special

  • Four distinct weapon types: longsword, scimitar, knife, and mace covers most fantasy weapon archetypes in one box.
  • Mace-to-flail conversion: the mace rebuilds into a horseman's flail with a simple part swap, no separate purchase needed.
  • Modular weapon rack: connects in all four directions, so multiple sets can be combined into a bigger display shelf.
  • Displays more than its own parts: the rack is built to hold separately-sold 30MF faces, armour, and weapons too.
  • No cement, no paint: every part is pre-colour-separated and snap-fit.
  • Fast to build: a genuine short session, good for slotting into a bigger 30MF build or building solo.

What's in the box

  • Longsword x1
  • Scimitar x1
  • Knife x1
  • Mace set x1 (converts to horseman's flail)
  • Weapon rack set x1 (display stand, connects in four directions)
  • Joint parts set x1

Compatible kits

Bandai's own product notes describe this set as expanding Armor Cross, the interchangeable armour and weapon system built into every 30 Minutes Fantasy release. The weapons use the standard 30MF hand grip and joint peg. We can't point to an officially published "recommended kits" list from Bandai for this set, and we haven't found confirmed compatibility with the separate 30MM or 30MS lines, so we're not claiming that. What we can confirm: it's designed to work across 30 Minutes Fantasy job-type builds.

Fast Australian shipping

Dispatched same day from our Brisbane warehouse if ordered before 2pm AEST on weekdays. Free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $199. Genuine Australian stock in hand, not ordered through an overseas proxy. Packed securely in a sturdy outer box with water-soluble cornstarch void fill that dissolves cleanly in the sink.

What to watch for

The weapon rack's small connector pegs are the fiddliest part of this set. Take your time lining them up before pushing them home, and keep the tweezers handy for the joint parts. The longsword and scimitar are thin enough that they can flex under paint if you go that route, even though painting isn't required out of the box.

Builder tips: dry-fit the mace before deciding which configuration you want, converting it to the horseman's flail isn't a one-way swap but it's easiest to plan ahead of time.

Build notes

No glue and no paint needed for a stock build. A standard nipper and hobby knife are all the tools required, with tweezers useful for the smaller joint pieces. Realistic build time is well under an hour. Suitable for builders aged 15 and up per the manufacturer's recommendation.

Assembly Guide

Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes these Gunpla kits the hottest sellers?

These kits are fan favourites for their detailed design, affordability, and build size, offering a balanced and enjoyable building experience.

Are these hottest seller kits suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! Especially the HG kits, which are known for their fewer parts and simplicity, making them a great starting point for new builders.

What is the level of detail in the MG and RG hottest sellers?

MG kits boast a detailed inner frame and additional parts, while RG combines MG’s complexity with HG’s size for an intricate, compact build.

Can I get replacement parts if I lose some during the build?

Yes, if you buy a kit from Gundam Express Australia we will source replacement parts for you. This is not a quick process as parts need to come from Bandai in Japan.

HG and RG Gundam kits are compact, while MG Gundam are larger but still manageable. You won’t need too much space to showcase these masterpieces beautifully.
