Bandai 1/144 30MM Customize Weapons (Plasma Weapon)

Give your 30MM figure a plasma-powered loadout

The 30MM Customize Weapons (Plasma Weapon) set is a drop-in arsenal for the 30 Minutes Missions line: a plasma saw, a plasma cutter, a plasma knife and a stun baton, all built around a shared translucent yellow "charged" blade effect. Mix and match the parts to build whichever weapon your loadout needs, then clip it straight onto any 30MM figure with a standard 3mm joint.

Build difficulty

Bandai rates this Skill Level 1. Every part is pre-coloured and snaps together, there's no cement and no paint needed, and the whole set goes together in a few minutes. It's a genuine first-purchase accessory, not just for builders who already know the 30MM system.

Technical highlights

The blade heads come in matched pairs, a solid grey "normal" state and a translucent yellow "charged" state, so you can pose a weapon either powered down or mid-strike. The long grip handle and the shorter joint pieces let you build the saw and cutter into a full Plasma Halberd configuration, or keep them as separate hand-held weapons. A set of flat hand parts (originally included with the 30MM Option Backpack 1) is included so you're not stuck using a fisted grip for every pose.

What Makes This Kit Special

  • Four weapon types in one set: plasma saw, plasma cutter, plasma knife and stun baton, all sharing the same charged-blade effect parts.
  • Normal and charged blade states: swap between a solid grey blade and the translucent yellow "powered up" version for different poses.
  • Combines into a Plasma Halberd: the saw and long grip connect into a single polearm-style weapon.
  • Universal 3mm joint compatibility: built for 30MM, but the standard joint means it clips onto most kits using the same connector size.
  • Snap-fit, no tools required: every part is pre-coloured plastic, so there's no painting step to get a finished look.

What's In The Box

  • Plasma saw blade (normal and charged states)
  • Plasma cutter blade (normal and charged states)
  • Plasma knife blade (charged state)
  • Stun baton head (charged state)
  • Long grip handle
  • Connecting joints and mounting arm
  • Flat hand parts (left and right)

Compatible Kits

Built for Bandai's 30 Minutes Missions (30MM) line and any other kit using the same standard 3mm connection joint. The weapon grips and joints aren't specific to any one 30MM figure, so if your kit takes a standard 3mm hand or backpack peg, these parts should fit.

What to watch for

Independent builder coverage on this specific set is thin. It's a small accessory pack rather than a headline kit, so it hasn't drawn the dedicated review write-ups a full figure gets. We haven't found any reported fit or quality issues, but we're stating that as thin coverage rather than manufacturing a "no issues found" consensus that isn't really there.

Build Notes

No glue or paint needed. A hobby knife is handy for tidying up any mould lines on the blade parts but isn't essential. Suited to any age able to build a standard 30MM kit.

Assembly Guide

Skill Level.1. Most adults & children can assemble Skill Level 1 kits with little to no difficulty. Very basic hobby tools are recommended including a pair of nippers, a hobby knife, but are not essential. No Glue is needed for these kits. Kits are all snap together build and most parts can be removed by twisting and pushing without the need to snip with nippers.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes these Gunpla kits the hottest sellers?

These kits are fan favourites for their detailed design, affordability, and build size, offering a balanced and enjoyable building experience.

Are these hottest seller kits suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! Especially the HG kits, which are known for their fewer parts and simplicity, making them a great starting point for new builders.

What is the level of detail in the MG and RG hottest sellers?

MG kits boast a detailed inner frame and additional parts, while RG combines MG’s complexity with HG’s size for an intricate, compact build.

Can I get replacement parts if I lose some during the build?

Yes, if you buy a kit from Gundam Express Australia we will source replacement parts for you. This is not a quick process as parts need to come from Bandai in Japan.

How much space will I need to display these Gunpla?

HG and RG Gundam kits are compact, while MG Gundam are larger but still manageable. You won’t need too much space to showcase these masterpieces beautifully.
