GSI Creos Gundam Marker GM04 - Gundam Gold (Renewal)
The Gundam Gold marker, refreshed. GSI Creos reformulated the GM04 Gold ink in 2021 for a smoother flow off the chisel tip and a more consistent gold coat across panel lines and small accent details. Same colour, better behaviour.
If you've ever fought a Gundam Marker that skipped on the first stroke or pooled on the second, this is the one that fixed that.
What it does
A chisel-tipped paint marker designed for Bandai polystyrene and ABS plastic. Use it for panel lining gold-coloured detail (gold trims on V-fins, antennae, exhaust nozzles), small accent painting on chest vents, and quick gold touch-ups on parts that aren't moulded in the colour. The ink is alcohol-based, dries fast, and overmarks can be lifted with a regular eraser before you commit.
What's new in the Renewal version
-
Smoother ink flow: the reformulated alcohol-based ink comes off the tip more evenly. Less skipping on the first stroke.
-
More uniform coverage: a single pass leaves a cleaner layer of gold. Less pooling, fewer streaks.
-
Same chisel tip: the angled tip handles both fine panel lines and broader accent fills depending on how you hold it.
-
Same erase-back behaviour: overmarks lift with a clean rubber eraser before the ink fully cures. Useful when you cross a line you didn't mean to.

What to watch for
Shake the marker before each session. Alcohol-based gold pigment settles at the bottom of the barrel if it sits unused for a few weeks. Twenty seconds of shaking sorts it out.
Store it tip-down between sessions. This keeps the ink saturated in the tip so the next stroke comes out clean instead of dry-scraping the first few millimetres.
The chisel tip is shaped, not pointed. For very fine lines on tight 1/144 detail, a 0.03 mm panel lining pen is the better tool. This marker is at its best on 1/100 and larger, or on the larger accent areas of a 1/144 kit.
Build notes
Test on a runner offcut before going to the kit. Gives you a feel for how much ink the tip releases on your specific batch.
The Renewal version is sold separately to the original GM04. They share the same product family and shelf placement but the ink behaviour is different. The Renewal version is what we stock.
