Shion Shishibe is the female pilot of the MAILeS Reiki in Kyoukai Senki (Amaim Warrior at the Borderline), and, per one reviewer, the only human character kit in the Kyoukai Senki plastic model line-up. Bandai's Figure-rise Standard version comes with three faces, two sets of hands and her AI mascot I-LeS Nayuta. Bandai released it in Japan in December 2021 and rates it 15+.

Skill Level 2, rated 15+ by Bandai. It is snap-fit with no glue, and a Japanese reviewer notes it uses no polycaps, with a ring-style shoulder joint instead. The colour separation is described as close to complete, with stickers only for the clothing marks and hair ornament. The faces are where the work is. One face is tampo-printed and the other two are finished by sticker or waterslide decal.

What to watch for

This comes from one detailed Japanese builder review and a community kit guide, so treat each point as a note rather than a confirmed fault:

  • The upper body barely moves once built. Per one reviewer, the neck joint hardly moves and the shoulders look wide. The community guide notes elbows and knees bend only to about 90 degrees.
  • The lower body is very mobile on its own, but once attached the shirt blocks most of its range, per one reviewer. That reviewer trimmed the hem of the shirt to gain a little movement, and the coat then limited it again.
  • Two of the three faces are finished with stickers or waterslide decals, so the face is the part that takes the most care.
  • The community guide suggests panel-lining and painting some details for a better result.
  • There are no weapon holders, so there is little to hold. The mascot and the base are the only extras.

The reviewer was positive about the colour separation, the quality of the hair and the way the forearm is moulded.

Assembly Guide

SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED
Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.
No Cement Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

No Painting Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Awesome kit, great extras. Only criticism is that the kit comes with a base so you don't need the second one. The kit also doesn't have the ability to take the blue LED bonus so if you don't have another use for it it is wasted. Luckily, I'm a Gundam tragic so will always have uses for extra bases and lighting kits.

Very rare with fair price

If you were one of the lucky ones that were able to travel to Sydney Gundam Base pop-up in 2025 and queued extremely early (like the first 40 or so) on the first day, probably you were able to grab one of these. Otherwise, the only alternative I would know of is traveling to Japan and being uber lucky of having it still being sold at Gundam bases. Otherwise, it's a second-hand market, and prices will go up. That said, the price was fair, I think it would be similar price as using a dropship service from Japan, with the exception that it's much faster and way more guaranteed you will get proper merchandise. So, Mecha Express, Cam, thank you so much for your store!
