Gundam Real Touch Marker - Pink 1

A water-based marker for stains, smudges and soft shading

The Gundam Real Touch Marker in Pink 1 (GM410) is part of the Gundam Marker range from GSI Creos (Mr. Hobby). It is made for adding dirt, stains and blended shading to plastic models with a realistic, hand-made look, using a water-based, wipe-off type of ink.

What makes it special

  • Wipe-off water-based ink: the ink is water-based and can be wiped back with a cotton bud or tissue, so you can control how much stays.
  • Two tips: a fine tip and a broad tip on one pen, for edges and for larger areas.
  • Layer for depth: the manufacturer shows building up several colours to get a realistic worn look.
  • Pink 1: one colour from the Real Touch range, which also includes the sets and single pens linked below.

How to use it

The manufacturer's guide (shown in the images, in Japanese) follows four steps.

  1. Coat the whole kit with a flat or matt clear coat first.
  2. Draw along the edges of the parts with the Real Touch pen.
  3. Blend the ink with a Real Touch blender pen.
  4. Wipe back with a cotton bud or tissue and remove the extra ink.

Important: the manufacturer warns that ink can soak into ABS resin parts and make them brittle or crack. Check the symbols in your kit's instruction manual and avoid ABS parts.

Awesome kit, great extras. Only criticism is that the kit comes with a base so you don't need the second one. The kit also doesn't have the ability to take the blue LED bonus so if you don't have another use for it it is wasted. Luckily, I'm a Gundam tragic so will always have uses for extra bases and lighting kits.

Very rare with fair price

If you were one of the lucky ones that were able to travel to Sydney Gundam Base pop-up in 2025 and queued extremely early (like the first 40 or so) on the first day, probably you were able to grab one of these. Otherwise, the only alternative I would know of is traveling to Japan and being uber lucky of having it still being sold at Gundam bases. Otherwise, it's a second-hand market, and prices will go up. That said, the price was fair, I think it would be similar price as using a dropship service from Japan, with the exception that it's much faster and way more guaranteed you will get proper merchandise. So, Mecha Express, Cam, thank you so much for your store!
