A heavily armed Command QAN[T] in a desert colour scheme
The Command QAN[T] Desert Type is a Gundam Build Metaverse take on the 00 Command QAN[T], recoloured into a desert tan, brown and olive palette and loaded out for ground combat. The colour scheme is moulded straight into the plastic, so the earthy desert look is there from the first snap without a drop of paint.
Build difficulty
This is a Skill Level 2 build on the Mecha Express scale. Snap-fit, no glue and no paint required. The core assembly is approachable for a newer builder, and the heavier weapon loadout and shoulder pod add a bit more part count than a basic HG rather than any real difficulty. Expect a relaxed few hours on the bench.
Technical highlights
The desert colour separation is handled through moulded parts across the tan armour, brown frame and olive accents, so a straight build reads accurately without paint. Articulation is strong through the shoulders, hips and knees, letting the kit hold the wide, weapon-heavy action stances the design suits. Stickers fill the finer markings.
What makes this kit special
-
Desert colour scheme moulded in. The tan, brown and olive palette is in the plastic, no paint needed to reach the ground-combat look.
-
Heavy weapons loadout. The kit comes with a large sword, twin rifles, a pair of short blades and a shoulder-mounted weapons pod.
-
Shoulder-mounted pod. The multi-barrel shoulder unit gives the suit its distinctive command-type silhouette.
-
Strong articulation. Well-placed joints hold the aggressive dual-blade poses the design is built for.
-
Snap-fit construction. No glue or paint required to reach a presentable finish.

Compatible accessories
As a standard 1/144 HG, the Command QAN[T] Desert Type works with the usual Gunpla display gear. What to watch for
Drawing on builder reviews of the Command QAN[T] mould (YouTube reviews, hobby groups):
-
It can be a little tippy. Reviewers note the design is slightly back-heavy with the shoulder pod and weapons equipped, and recommend a sturdier display base for stable action poses. A base is sold separately.
-
Otherwise well regarded. The mould is praised for strong colour separation and a solid, simple build, so a straight snap-build reads accurately to the art.
-
Nub cleanup shows on the flat desert tan. Matte, light-coloured armour makes gate marks easy to see, so take your time with sharp nippers and a knife.
Build notes
No glue required, this is a snap-fit kit. A basic Gunpla tool kit (sharp side cutters or nippers, a hobby knife for clean-up and a panel line marker) is recommended though not essential. Recommended age 8 and over. No batteries required.
