The MSN-04II Nightingale is the novel-version design that sits alongside the Sazabi as Char Aznable's final mobile suit, and in RE/100 form it is a genuine centrepiece. This is a big, deep-red kit dominated by its enormous sculpted funnel binders, and it captures the sheer bulk of the design at a size and price well below a full Master Grade.

Build difficulty

This is a Skill Level 2 build on the Mecha Express scale. The RE/100 (Reborn One Hundred) line is built to give you Master Grade-scale presence without a full inner frame, so the assembly is more straightforward than an MG despite the size. Snap-fit, no glue and no paint required. It's a satisfying weekend build with a lot of large, rewarding parts.

  • It is a display kit more than a poseable one. Reviewers consistently note the RE/100 has limited articulation and no gimmicks, in keeping with the simplified construction. It looks the part on the shelf but does not strike deep action poses.
  • A few parts can need light trimming. Some builders reported minor fit issues on specific parts that were solved with a small trim during assembly.
  • It is large and needs the space. The funnel binders give it a wide footprint, so plan the shelf spot before you build. The kit ships in a big outer box.

Assembly Guide

SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED
Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.
No Cement Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

No Painting Required

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. Awesome kit, great extras. Only criticism is that the kit comes with a base so you don't need the second one. The kit also doesn't have the ability to take the blue LED bonus so if you don't have another use for it it is wasted. Luckily, I'm a Gundam tragic so will always have uses for extra bases and lighting kits.

Very rare with fair price

If you were one of the lucky ones that were able to travel to Sydney Gundam Base pop-up in 2025 and queued extremely early (like the first 40 or so) on the first day, probably you were able to grab one of these. Otherwise, the only alternative I would know of is traveling to Japan and being uber lucky of having it still being sold at Gundam bases. Otherwise, it's a second-hand market, and prices will go up. That said, the price was fair, I think it would be similar price as using a dropship service from Japan, with the exception that it's much faster and way more guaranteed you will get proper merchandise. So, Mecha Express, Cam, thank you so much for your store!
