Series Assembly Guide FAQ

Bandai 1/100 MG RX-75 Guntank

Finally completing Bandai's Master Grade (MG) release of all three "Project V" Mobile Suits, here's the long-awaited 1/100-scale plastic kit release of Guntank done in perfect MG justice!

A fusion of a tank with the upper body and arms of a Mobile Suit, the Guntank was the first Earth Federation Mobile Suit produced under "Project V." It served admirably protecting White Base and fighting alongside Gundam and Guncannon during the One Year War in the 1979-80 "Mobile Suit Gundam" anime. This Master Grade release of the prototype artillery Mobile Suit comes in snap-fit plastic parts molded in color and will be fully poseable upon completion. It features suspension caterpillar treads that rotate realistically and has suspension arms inside the treads that allow for it to be displayed traversing over uneven terrains, plus its head console lights up through the use of an included LED unit (two batteries required, not included).

Guntank also sports a Core Block System whereby the included FF-X7 Core Fighter can transform and dock inside its torso. It utilizes the same Core Fighter as MG RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.2.0 and MG G-Fighter, which means Gundan's upper body can be attached to Guntank's treads to form Gundam Tank, while Guntank's upper body can be attached to G-Fighter to form a high mobility-type Guntank! Also packed in this set are same-scale pilots consisting of three sitting-pose pilots (Hayato, Ryu, and a regular pilot), and standing-pose figures of Bright, Mirai, Ryu, and Hayato. Dry-transfer decals and marking stickers are provided.

Assembly Guide

Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.

Frequently Asked Questions

How well does the tread system work? Is it poseable or static?

Ask if the treads are fully functional and poseable, allowing for rolling or different terrain configurations. Confirm if they're static or require modification for movement. Knowing the tread functionality helps plan your display options.

Does the kit include the core fighter and landing gear?

Confirm if the MG Guntank comes with the iconic core fighter unit and landing gear for alternative display options. Knowing the transformation possibility and stand inclusion helps manage expectations.

How detailed is the interior and cockpit? Can a pilot figure fit inside?

Ask about the level of detail in the Guntank's cockpit and interior. Does it have seats, instruments, or control panels? Can it accommodate a pilot figure for added realism? Knowing the interior details helps decide if it suits your desired level of cockpit representation.

How articulated is the Guntank compared to other Master Grade kits?

Ask about the range of motion in the arms, legs, head, and torso. Can it achieve specific poses like aiming its cannon or raising its arms menacingly? Knowing the articulation strengths and limitations helps envision your desired displays.

Is this the standard MG Guntank or a specific recolor/variation?

Confirm if this is the standard green MG Guntank or a special edition with a different color scheme or additional parts. Knowing the specific version prevents unexpected variations.

A welcoming start!

This was my first time ordering from this site, and I have absolutely no regrets! My order PGU RX-78-2 arrived very quickly, and to my surprise, it even came with a free Gundam marker. That small gesture truly made me feel welcomed into your community.

This definitely won’t be my last order—this is just the beginning of my support for this store, and I’m excited about the possibility of becoming a VIP member soon! 😊 I’m looking forward to purchasing PG kits and those hard-to-find Gunplas here in the future. Cheers!

An incredible looking kit with one flaw

The look of the kit is incredible and the fact it comes with a stand for the Lance is amazing QOL. However, there is one glaring issue, in that there is no shoulder joint. You heard me. The arms can only rotate, not move outward like in basically all other gunpla. I don't know why they built it this way but it is the one blemish on an incredible looking kit.

Epic Build

What can I say, this build is incredible, although I didn't manage to get the leds working, still, for my first perfect grade, it definitely didn't disappoint, I'm still finishing up the final few steps but very easy to follow instructions even without being able to Japanese.

Its a brand new design of an Zaku that we are all familiar with.
The colouring is closely resembling to a police officers uniform.
Its fitting for new modelers to grab and build.

Pretty good, but not the best Barbatos kit

Barbatos Lupus Rex is probably my favourite design from IBO besides Bael and Full City Rebake, but my copy of this kit has a couple of problems. The many issues that people have is that the joints are awful, but mine has none of that for now, also the proportions are a bit off compared to the anime, hopefully when Bandai releases a MG 1/100 Lupus Rex these problems are not in that kit
