The Tool That Saves a Botched Assembly
Every Gunpla builder eventually needs to pull a part back off the runner or the frame, and doing it with a nipper or a fingernail is how parts get gouged. The Bandai Spirits Parts Separator is a purpose-built resin tool for exactly that job: it separates snap-fit parts and polycap joints cleanly, without scarring the plastic.
How it works
No modelling skill needed to use this, just a light touch. The flat wedge end slides into the seam of two snapped parts and gently levers them apart, so the resin edge takes the stress instead of your plastic. The narrow pin end handles the other common job: pushing a pin or peg out from underneath, or holding a polycap steady while you work so it doesn't get crushed or deformed under pressure.
What Makes This Tool Special
-
Resin construction: Softer than the plastic it's working on, so it separates parts without gouging or scratching them the way a nipper or hobby knife edge can.
-
Two functions in one tool: A wedge blade for prying snapped parts apart, and a pin tip for pushing pegs out or steadying polycaps.
-
Polycap-safe: Insert the pin into a polycap before clamping it and it holds its shape instead of crushing under pressure.
-
Pocket-sized: Flat, light, and easy to keep in a tool tray or a builder's kit bag.
What's In The Box
- 1x Bandai Spirits Parts Separator (single-piece resin tool)
Compatible Kits
This is a universal tool, not tied to any one kit or series. It works on the standard snap-fit joints and Bandai polycaps found across the vast majority of Gunpla releases, from Entry Grade, SD, HG, RG, MG, MGEX and up to PG, anywhere you need to correct a mis-assembled part or safely pull something back apart. Bandai's own usage guide demonstrates it on standard ABS/PS snap-fit parts (wedge end) and on polycap joints (pin end).

What to Watch For
It's a simple single-piece tool, so there isn't much to go wrong. The main technique note from Bandai's own usage guide: let the wedge edge do the work rather than forcing it, and use the pin end (not the wedge) when you're specifically trying to protect a polycap from crushing.
Build Notes
No glue, paint or other tools required to use this. A light touch is all it takes: wedge end for prying snapped parts apart, pin end for pushing pegs out or steadying polycaps during assembly.
