Bandai 1/60 PG Gundam Exia (Non Lighting)
The Gundam Exia is Setsuna F. Seiei's mobile suit and the flagship machine of Celestial Being in Mobile Suit Gundam 00, the four-sword Gundam built for close-quarters combat with a full GN weapon set. This Perfect Grade release builds it in 1/60 scale, the largest and most detailed way to have Exia on the shelf.
This is the non-lighting version. It skips the LED wiring of the lighting edition in favour of a straightforward build, and with 500+ parts and a full inner frame to construct before the armour goes on, it's a kit for builders who've already got a few HG or MG kits behind them.
The PG inner frame is fully posable on its own, before a single armour panel goes on, and holds Exia's sword stances without extra support. Colour separation covers the white, purple-blue and red armour in moulded plastic, with a clear green lens for the GN Drive on the chest and knee. Panel lines and marking stickers are included for builders who want to push the detail further.
What Makes This Kit Special
-
Fully Posable Inner Frame: The complete inner skeleton builds and poses before the armour goes on, PG-standard engineering that holds dynamic sword stances on its own
-
Full GN Weapon Set: GN Sword, GN Long Blade, GN Short Blade, GN Shield, two GN Beam Sabers and two GN Beam Daggers
-
Glowing GN Drive Lens: A clear green lens on the chest and knee recreates Exia's GN particle core without needing paint
-
500+ Parts of Detail: High part count with moulded panel lines and marking stickers throughout
-
1/60 Scale Presence: Around 30cm tall assembled, the largest standard way to display Exia

What to Watch For
A general web search plus a targeted Reddit and YouTube sweep found limited independent build coverage for the non-lighting version specifically, though what exists is positive: one detailed build write-up (via Tumblr) called the proportions and detail immaculate and noted the inner-frame-first build order was a refreshing change from building limbs and torso separately, with the moulded blue running slightly more purple than the RG or MG versions and the blades finished in a matte silver rather than chrome. This is a single account rather than a confirmed pattern across multiple builders, so treat it as one data point rather than a guarantee.
Builder Tips: Build and test-pose the full inner frame before committing to the armour layering order in the manual, it saves having to backtrack. A satin topcoat suits the matte-silver blade finish well if you want to unify the GN weapon set.
Build Notes
Snap-fit assembly. No glue required. A full hobby tool kit is recommended given the part count and complexity: nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks, files, tweezers and decal softener. Expect a build across several sessions rather than one sitting. No display base included with the kit. Recommended age 15+.
