The HG Duel Blitz Gundam is Yzak Joule's mobile suit in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, a fusion of the original Duel Gundam frame with Blitz-inspired arm armaments and a removable Assault Shroud over-armour. Yzak fields it across the film's battles, and the kit captures both the full armoured silhouette and the underlying stripped-down Duel frame underneath.
The kit is for SEED Destiny / SEED Freedom collectors who want Yzak's return on the shelf, and for builders who want the signature launching Gleipnir claw gimmick reproduced with a lead wire.
Build difficulty
HG 1/144 snap-fit with the SEED Action System internal structure. Bandai rate it age 8 and over. Mecha Express tags it both beginner and intermediate. The kit's removable Assault Shroud means you essentially build two displayable configurations from one kit, which adds time without adding difficulty. Expect 3 to 4 hours at a relaxed pace for a clean snap, longer if you set up the Gleipnir lead-wire injection pose carefully. No glue. No paint required.
Technical highlights
The SEED Action System hip joints are the standout: the connecting shafts on both legs can move separately left, right, and slide up and down, opening up bold action poses that standard HG hip joints can't hold. The Assault Shroud over-armour covers the entire body and removes cleanly to reveal the Duel frame underneath, giving two distinct display modes from the same kit. The left arm carries the Gleipnir grapple, which ships with a lead wire to reproduce the launching state and a base to support the claw mid-flight. The right arm mounts the Lancer Dart, which can be detached and used as a handheld weapon. The kit is moulded in colour, no painting required for screen-accurate finish.

Compatible kits and accessories
This is a mobile suit kit, not an accessory. The Duel Blitz uses the standard 3 mm back-mount socket, so it pairs with the standard Bandai action base system.
No display base is included with the kit (the Gleipnir base supports only the launched claw, not the suit itself). For dynamic SEED Action System poses, pair the Duel Blitz with the Bandai Action Base 2, the standard 1/144 display stand. The Assault Shroud parts also benefit from a second base if you want to display the stripped frame alongside the armoured configuration.

What to watch for
Some independent reviewers note the kit's detail level sits at the lower end of the SEED Freedom HG range. The kit is engineered around the Assault Shroud / stripped configurations rather than fine surface detail, so set expectations around the two-mode display rather than complex surface engineering.
Builder Tips. Build the underlying Duel frame first as a standalone, then add the Assault Shroud parts as a second pass. The Gleipnir lead wire reads better with a careful matte coat to take the wire's sheen down. The launching pose with the Gleipnir base set against an Action Base 2 holds the claw mid-air convincingly. A black panel line marker brings out the Assault Shroud seams without dirtying the moulded colour.
Build notes
No glue required for the standard build, this is snap-fit. A basic Gunpla tool kit (sharp side cutters or nippers, a hobby knife for clean-up, a panel line marker) is recommended though not essential. Allow 3 to 4 hours total build time at a relaxed pace, longer if you set up the Gleipnir launching pose carefully or work through both display configurations. Recommended age 8 and over per the Bandai box.
