Bandai 30MF Class Up Armor (Rozen Warrior)

Job change your Rosan Fighter into a Warrior

This is the 30MF Class Up Armor (Rosan Warrior), set A-07 in Bandai's 30 Minutes Fantasy line. It is an add-on, not a complete figure: you fit it to the separately sold 30MF Rosan Fighter to "class up" into the Rosan Warrior, a Class III job that Bandai describes as a professional fighter with high combat skill and a strong physique. Bandai Spirits released it in December 2024. Some retailers list the name as Rozen Warrior or Rozan Warrior.

Build difficulty

Skill Level 2. The parts come on runners, so you need nippers to cut them free, and Bandai designs the 30 Minutes Fantasy line for easy assembly. It is rated 15 and up on the box. You swap armour parts onto the Fighter's body, so the Fighter kit is required.

Technical highlights

  • One set of armour parts and one set of weapon parts, per Bandai's contents list.
  • A different face design and colouring from the Liber Republic Warrior set, which is sold separately.
  • Helmet fur trim, horn decorations and tattered cloth detail on the armour, per Bandai's announcement.
  • Weapon parts that combine with the Fighter's own one-handed axe and shield to form a polearm and an enhanced shield with an Element Core.

What makes this kit special

  • Armor Cross upgrade: Bandai's armour-exchange system lets the Fighter move up to a higher job by swapping exterior parts.
  • Rosan Empire look: dark armour with purple helmet and cloth pieces, distinct from the Liber Republic version.
  • Expandable line: the 30MF bodies use 3 mm expansion ports, so class sets are designed to be swapped as the range grows.

What's in the box

  • Armour parts, one set
  • Weapon parts, one set
  • Printed instruction manual

Not included: the 30MF Rosan Fighter body, and the Fighter's own one-handed axe and shield that the weapon parts build on (sold separately).

Compatible accessories

Requires the 30MF Rosan Fighter (sold separately). Bandai shows the set only on the Rosan Fighter.

What to watch for

Coverage of this specific set is thin. We read one unboxing video, which did not flag a specific fault, and did not find a written review we could read in full, so these are points from Bandai's own listing rather than reviewer complaints:

  • It does nothing on its own. You need the Rosan Fighter body, and the axe and shield the weapon parts build on come with that Fighter.
  • Bandai's box notes that the finished model in its photos has been painted, so the moulded parts may look different from the pictures.

Build notes

You will need nippers to cut the armour and weapon parts from the runners. Keep the Fighter's axe and shield handy, as the weapon parts attach to them. Recommended for ages 15 and up per Bandai.

Assembly Guide

Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Mecha series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Mecha kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the 30 Minutes Fantasy collection different from other Bandai series?

The 30 Minutes Fantasy (30MF) collection stands out by incorporating fantasy themes such as knights, warriors, and mythical creatures, unlike the more futuristic and mechanical designs of the 30 Minutes Missions series. It features highly detailed parts, easy snap-fit assembly, exceptional articulation, and a wide range of interchangeable parts for customisation, allowing builders to create unique fantasy characters.

What types of models are included in the 30 Minutes Fantasy collection?

The collection includes models like the Liber Knight and Liber Fighter, each with its own set of accessories and armour parts. These models feature a "Silhouette" base body that can be transformed into various fantasy roles by swapping out parts. The series focuses on a diverse range of characters inspired by classic fantasy lore.

Are the 30 Minutes Fantasy models easy to assemble, and who are they suitable for?

Yes, the 30 Minutes Fantasy models are designed for easy snap-fit assembly, making them accessible to both beginners and experienced builders. These kits are recommended for ages 8 and up. No glue is required, and the parts fit together seamlessly, allowing for a straightforward and enjoyable building experience.

Can I customise the 30 Minutes Fantasy models, and do they need to be painted?

Absolutely! One of the key features of the 30 Minutes Fantasy series is the extensive range of interchangeable parts. You can customise your models with various armour, weapons, and accessories to create unique characters. While the models are pre-coloured and do not need painting, you can choose to paint them for added detail and personalisation.

What kind of articulation can I expect from the 30 Minutes Fantasy models?

The 30 Minutes Fantasy models offer exceptional articulation, with multiple points of movement that enable dynamic and natural poses. Innovations in joint structures, especially in the head, neck, chest, and waist, allow for expressive movements and bold posing without compromising the model's body lines. This makes the models not only fun to build but also great for display.
